At least the second story has a good explanation for why the OP was carded three times. Sounds like the guy was genuinely worried about getting in trouble on his first day and honestly, he did the right thing trying to be thorough and no harm was done overall. Hopefully the guy still has his job because he sounds like a good doorman.

I remember having to take a former landlady to court after she rented her grandparents’ house to me, knowing it had black mold. I was successful, and she had to put me up in my lodging of choice, so I chose the Residence Inn (most expensive one I could find in the area) and bled her dry financially.

They never cleaned/removed it, since i having decided and secured new housing with a new landlord and moved out owing nothing further. Place has since been torn down for new Target and Landlord has since passed away.

the flood story reminds me of my grandmother, who just moved into an apartment of her own, back in 2017, i visit her every sunday after church and back in 2018 there was a flood and my mother gave my room to her.

There's no way the first story would've held up in court. Legal mechanisms allow renters to stop paying rent or break the lease if the property owner neglects their obligations if they refuse to do maintenance. And it's perfectly legal. It'd be downright impossible to convince a court that it's bad faith to break a lease because you've been holed up in a hotel for multiple weeks while they neglect to fix your apartment, which has toxic mold growing in it. You paid for an apartment, not a hotel stay, and imma be honest; I hope any excellent court would impose a hefty judgment on the property manager for filing frivolous lawsuits.

Moment it becomes unfit for habitation, Landlord must fix it, give temporary housing or let you leave without owing anything further. Also liabe for damages three times the rent every month not resolved or your last month. Must give security deposit back

I’m pretty sure that in the UK you can refuse to pay rent while your house is infested with black mould. It can be bad for your health and cause respiratory issues, so can not be classed as a liveable property. If your landlord refuses to make the property liveable you can refuse to pay, in some cases they will be responsible for paying your accommodation while the property is rectified

For the Tattoo story: There have been instances of kids being tattooed for medical reasons. There was a reddit post where a mom of fraternal twins had a medical emergency with one of her kids who needs a shot once a week, and her MIL mixed the two up and freaked because she didn't know what would happen. OP got to the hospital after the kids were given the reversal agent and the shot respectively. The doctor did end up saying give them necklaces or tags of some sort, but the boys would take them off so he suggested a super small medical tattoo. It'd look like a freckle no bigger than a pencil eraser. it was in and out 30 minutes with no fuss from the baby with the condition. MIL freaked because of it and wouldn't let up even after the explanation. While that woman's heart was in the right place, she did go about it the wrong way.

I have a story but i dont have any idea where to send it so ill just type it here any way heres a story of my own: School Bully argues with the teachers after i quote on quote "sweared" and i should get a bigger punishment then i did get, heres the story. So i am a very good and well-behaved student at my school and rarely get into serious trouble so schools are quite easy fun for me. Except it would be only if i hadn't been bullied for around 3 years now. This bully is mean to everyone, including his friends, so bassicly, everyone hates him... EXCEPT FOR HIS FREINDS. Anyway, onto the story. One day, i was playing tennis in the school playground when the bully came along, so i just decided to just stay silent. Then suddenly, he diecides to take over and rig the rules, EVEN THOUGH HE ISNT THE JUDGE. Eventually, i open my mouth and say "this isnt fair at all." Then the bully proceeds to lean over the net and call me names in all. Keep in mind that I've been dealing with this guy for over a year, so i am fuming at this moment. Eventually, we get into an argument, and he comes around the net to my side and proceeds to slowly back me up to the point where i can't move back anymore. Suddenly people come in trying to separate us apart. As the argument gets bigger, i eventually say this: "i dont fudging care anymore ,ive had enough of you". Keep the word fudging in mind. Eventually the teacher comes in and takes him away as i start crying in anger. Fast foward a few minitues and the teacher asks me a question."did you say i dont fudging care". Apparently this kid told the teacher i sweared when i didnt even actually swear! I chose to be honest and say that i did and i only got 5 mins of detention since the teachers understood my anger the the bully comes in saying "i get a whole weeks detention and hes getting 5 minutes he should also get a weeks detention!" You screamed and shouted at my my face and i said a word and you think i should get a weeks detention with you just because of that? Eventually he then argues with the teachers until its time for class again. Am i the jerk commenters?
