@@CrazyRaptr That Coyote was badly injured, likely in shock and didn't have the energy to fight. I guess it did have a shattered hip, but might also have had a spinal injury or some other injuries. I suspect they euthanized the poor gal.

It’s how they live, like sharks, people may not like them because they are dangerous, but they need to eat too, and again alike sharks, they accidentally eat things they aren’t supposed too. And if u get into their territory, then they will attack. They are animals, don’t say things like that, bc we are already killing everything.

This makes me so sad and reminds me of our cat that recently got hit by a car. We ended up having to put him down cause the injuries were so extensive.

Good job trying to save the coyote, but in the end, hip fractures are very difficult to repair, especially in a wild animal. This reminded me of two of my own experiences with animal hits, actually. TW: animal death/really gross topics First story is short, there isn't much to it, but I saw a coyote dead on the side of the road. Many people from my community were worried and thought it was someone's dog. Anyway, RCMP did nothing and just drove past it and nobody cleaned it up, so I got the joys of watching a coyote rot on the side of the road for two weeks before something was finally done. Whether it was a citizen or someone actually doing their job, I don't know. I was driving to work one day and saw a cat lying on the side of the road. It looked quite dead, and I was late to work, so I couldn't do anything about it... Especially since it was at a blind spot in the road and it wasn't off to the side on the shoulder, but on the actual road itself. I told myself everything would be fine and the RCMP or the cat's owner would show up and deal with it... I of course suffered pretty much the whole day and I had to look away from the shoulder of the road when driving by. It was heartbreaking to me. Two weeks later... (Gross Content Warning... ) Crows are picking at it, insides are exposed on the road, and it's been mercilessly pushed to the side of the road. I contacted anyone I could, but nobody could do anything about it. SPCA couldn't, I was too chicken to call RCMP or the police since it could have been a pet and I didn't want to get into any legal stuff, and I called roadkill cleanup services and they said they only clean up moose/deer/bears/etc, anything that would be a hazard to drivers on the road. One day it was gone, but the body of the poor cat was mutilated and rotten by the point it was cleaned up. My purpose of sharing this is to try and find some sort of resource in the future to report these kinds of things. Driving past a dead animal that resembles a pet someone might love and care for is just devastating. People around here really need to start doing their jobs. It's so common for me to see squashed raccoons and porcupines on the road that it's not even heartbreaking to see those anymore, but just common. I see at least one per week in the fall/spring, and maybe 5 per week in the summer. It's really just the canines and felines that I see that hurt the heart...
