Thank you so much Laura for detailed video on a smaller landscape. It came out right on perfect time while I am working on my landscaping project. And it perfect fitted our yard side. Very helpful information. Thank you so much for your hard work. I watch you videos every single day and learning a lot! Tell you mom and dad that they did great job raising this lady. This series is great! With digging out under the sidewalk it’s important to know what you’re doing or you may end up with settling and cracking of the concrete.

So excited for this series! We moved into our home in March. I've promised myself I wouldn't do anything this first season with the landscape - just wait and see what all is already here and how it performs...BUT, I'm making plans for next year! I want to do exactly what you're doing with this property. Expand, enlarge the foundation planting beds with a better mix of plantings. I'm enjoying the step by step and the explanations that come along with it. Now - if I just didn't live on the humid East Coast! Thank you for this channel!

Hi Laura! What a fun project seeing you do a small scale garden. Your friends are very lucky to have you help them. I used weed barrier fabric in the front of the house and then put colored rock on top. We still get a few weeds, but they aren't hard to remove. I like the rock because it's permanent and doesn't need replaced or refreshed, and if I want to add somethin, it's easy to move it aside. I don't have any annuals, just perennials. I'm looking forward to the other videos. Thank you for sharing!

Using the bulb auger to go under the sidewalk is genius. Deep flower beds are great. I don’t know anyone who has wished their flower beds were narrower,but I know lots of people who make them deeper every few years. I’m not a fan of landscape fabric but the heavy felted stuff is definitely superior when needed.

Thank you for doing this project. It is true what you said about your property & how your projects have to be bigger than most. It turns out I have a green thumb like my mom, however, I don't know where to begin. I do have a small flower bed in my yard. It's not thought out at all. It's just a small selection of flowers I know work to together b/c of water intake, dirt type, & sun light. I have so much to learn & watch your video religiously almost. I like the way you explain every dissicion you make. I don't want to take much of your time. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge & yard with us.

Thank you!! I am loving this project already! I just completed my front yard, after working on it for 4 years. Year 1 I cleaned out and did the side of the house. Year 2 I added a huge walled flower bed. Year 3 I added a few small shrubs. Year 4 I added major anchor plants, did the landscape fabric (should have done year 1) and mulched the entire thing. I don't have drip tubing sadly, but it looks amazing!! I've had so many complements. You are my inspiration!

I’m always amazed that Laura can go from grass (or gravel by her chicken run) to flower bed in a few short hours. They have better soil than me! I deal with clay and this would not work here. But I still love the project and advice!
@mariankay64825 жыл бұрын
@@jackiecleary9639 I know what you mean. I'm in the Texas Panhandle and I think our temps are similar to what they experience with the really cold winters and really hot summers but we have a lot more wind than they do and our soil has a lot of clay content. Even by her chicken coop she added some gypsum and a couple other things I can't remember. She had that cute little tiller, I remember that!!! ❤ If they did any thing like that, she never mentioned it and the soil looked pretty much untouched. We'll see what she says. Maybe she'll answer this in the next video. God's best and happy gardening!

we use this fabric in our vegetable garden and it is absolutely amazing. No weeds and we don't mulch so you literally can sweep between the rows and even sit right down when tending the garden. One tip we use a hand held torch to burn the holes for seeds. plants, etc and it prevents the fray edge you get from cutting it.
