Cheers D, yes it certainly was I thought it was gone for good. I felt about without too much hope and found it six inches deep jammed between my tripod leg and a rock! All's well that ends well I suppose. Have a lovely weekend 🙏🙏🙏

A wonderful change of pace Izzy! What a spectacular location, so lush and green, and a beauty of a waterfall (not all waterfalls are equal in beauty in my opinion). That was a great look at how you focus and exposure blend, certainly will be helpful for anyone trying to learn those techniques. Three beautiful images to add to your collection, I can't quite pick a favorite, but the first one stood out to me a little more than the others - but all amazing to be sure! Really enjoyed it mate! Hope you and yours are well, have a great week down there!

Cheers matey, I hope you are keeping warm up there... it's been 40 degrees plus here (along with storms rushing in). I'm pleased you enjoyed this adventure, I'll definitely have to get out and explore and capture more waterfalls as I thoroughly enjoyed these. Have a lovely weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Magic location that you worked so well. Australia has such stunning scenery rivalling anything overseas. Leeches - argh! They are such tricky little beggers, getting into places they shouldn't! Love the lessons on focus stacking. See you shortly!

Thank you Helen and I think Australia rivals absolutely anywhere in the world (with the exception of Iceland). I was lucky no little critters crawling up or down my legs! Have a great week 🙏🙏🙏

Superb location and captured to perfection. You worked hard for the final image but it was definitely worth it. Glad the polariser wasn't lost, it looked touch and go there. Thanks for sharing and have a great week

Thanks Izzy for taking us along and good job. I was in the Otways last August and no doubt as a photographer and visitor alike it is the waterfalls and the coast that get your attention. However, the best images I brought back from my trip were of the forest and the trees. It is too easy to overlook this aspect of the Otways as the forest and trees are everywhere. I felt my waterfall and coast images were predictable (perhaps because these are the images you always see from this area) whereas my forest and tree images felt fresher and consequently more captivating.

I hear you Dane and I think when I next return here I'll go for something different, I lived in Victoria for 6 years and never photographed the Otways! Crazy i know, I now feel I have done the tourist shots and will look for more unique images next time. Have a great week (or what's left of it 😂) 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks Izzy, wonderful video. I photographed Hopetoun Falls from the viewing platform in the pouring rain a few years back, not long after I got my camera. I was very impressed with my shot until I saw your final version. Now I want to go back and do it again with stacking. I'm inspired.

Izzy, I mentioned you on fellow Australian vlogger, Brian Smith's wonderful channel last week when he included a jetty image that reminded me of you! You both do such dreamy work and these waterfalls are no exception. Sometimes fallen logs can look so busy but these augmented the composition beautifully. "An omen to move on" when you dropped the filter - HA! I'm glad you included that. I dropped a lens in the mud not long ago and did not say such gentle words!!

Thank you Juanita, I too watch Brian and love his work, I'm honoured to be compared to him in any way 🙏. I'm sure if my video camera wasn't on I may have uttered a few other choice words 😂. Hope you are well and have a lovely weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for battling the elements, Izzy, and delivering some superb images and excellent instruction on maximizing image quality. It seems to be Murphy's Law that whenever it rains the angle of fall will be towards the camera, rather than coming from behind. The Otways is a superb place (region?) for photography. I haven't snapped Hopetoun nor Beauchamp, but I will at some stage. (Erskine's has comprehensive barriers that are difficult to overcome unless you are a schoolie.😉) I empathize with having family members along: my wife is very patient but I always feel guilty when I'm enjoying myself and she is waiting. You could have got into your family's good graces by a visit to the Chocolaterie just north of Anglesea. It's very worthwhile but ordering the hot dark chocolate and scoffing a brownie with it is not advised - it's almost too much chocolate...😊
@IzzyAbuleelaPhotography11 ай бұрын
Cheers Mick, a chocolate overload might induce an afternoon siesta and that's a habit I'm keen not to start. As for rain and waterfalls I'm almost inclined to say its one of those golden rules that near a waterfall your lens is going to attract every drop of moisture within a 10 metre area. Hope you are well, have a lovely weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Leeches, leeches!!! They give me waking nightmares (and ticks), 'nugh respect venturing into a leech environment. I hope the polariser was OK, having just bought a new one I know how eye wateringly expensive they are. Super image btw. Take care.

Thanks Tony, yes they are not my favourite critters. i was lucky as the polariser just had a dunking and was completely unscathed. I thought it best to scarper though. Have a lovely weekend 🙏🙏🙏

lovely stuff Izzy. get yourself over here to Waterfall Country in the Brecon Beacons. I once lost a Lee CPL off Mumbles Pier. I wonder where in the world it is now!?!? BTW you're looking very trim mate 🙂

Cheers Nick, I can only imagine an octopus scampering around the sea bed (can Octopi 'scamper'?) using your CPL as a monocle 😂. Stay well, look after you and your family and have a lovely weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Lots of fumbling to get the shot. For spray such as this what one needs is a clear glass magnetic attaching filter on a stick allowing composing/focusing and quick removal for the shot then quick reattachment.

Cheers buddy, I did think it would be my knees that would go first but I took a tumble and have damaged my shoulder (the fall looked for all the world like a comedy sketch featuring wet rocks and a dead seal... I kid you not 😂). Anywho I survived the leeches (and ticks) have a great weekend Thomas 🙏🙏🙏
