Yes, you would never know there is so much distraction going on when you add your creativity! I think I preferred the long exposure for this one that brings out the light and makes the subject stand alone without extra detail. It's already fairly busy on its own. I liked the sand images too! Happy New Year!

I don't blame you for being reluctant to go rock-jumping, Izzy - rocks even without algae can be dastardly in their slipperiness. I actually liked the first, short exposure image: I felt the clouds were "brooding", and the boats gave a bit of additional context to the impact of the clouds. The sand intimate images were just wonderful. 30 degrees early in the morning and no flies or mosquitoes!

Nobody can ever adequately explain to me the neuroses that drive photographers to convert water back to the gases from which everything emerged. If we saw it that way we would immediately seek medical help. Our incredible telescopes, focused away on distant things we are told are galaxies make photographs that depict these gases as a kind of solid that some might eventually become but photographers happily dissolve the world around them. The images are fine, each one a way of depicting things. I like your sand images. I feel that between my toes.

I am intrigued by your use of filters, they seem to be an integral component in composing the shot. I find it amazing how the camera can see light and colour better than the human eye, plus enhance the image by editing.

HNY Iz and great to have the VLOG back. Is this a return to Bali? It looks a stunner of a place. On the short combined long focus shots, I preferred the short cos I think the long shots just take all the life out of an image…and for that heresy many apologies but to quote an old time reformation reformer, I stand here I can do no more
