I was lucky enough to be invited to Northern Ireland to do a Landscape Photography talk for the Royal Photographic Society. Whilst there I also ventured out with a group to shoot the rugged north coastline. As per usual the weather was just terrible, which is actually a good thing... I suppose :)

Top point on not getting too near to the sea in your video. I grew up in Porthleven, Cornwall, a place that has become popular for stormy sea photographs over the years. It is beautiful seeing such powerful waves and bubbling waters, but sadly a lot of people have died getting too near to the sea and being swept in. Amazing photos are one thing, but staying safe and aware of what is happening around you (and how quick it changes) is more important!

A very challenging part of NI coastline, especially at this time of year and with the weather you got. Nice also to see you getting over here and good work to Richard for organising it.

The black rocks are among the oldest on the planet. The second fault line that runs through the isle of Arran which also includes Ballycastle and all the way upto the top part of Canada are the oldest rocks. You will find some amazing photography opportunities around northern and western Ireland as well as the west coast of Scotland such as the isle of Arran and the islands. The weather comes with the rugged terrain and gives it's own unique atmosphere. Lovely moody image that you took...enjoying the videos and enjoying your experiences and expertise

The Dunluce Castle shots are brilliant!! Didn't know you were in Belfast. I was over to visit my daughter and family, flying back to Virginia on Tuesday. Would have loved to have had a chance to meet you. All my castle shots are from the top, several years ago. Yours are simply breath taking, mine, not so much!!! Keep up the stellar work, already planning our trip back for next fall. Love Ireland and Scotland, and its people. Thanks again, your reminder that rain and storms have much to be appreciated and opportunities to be had. Best, Bob

Always get excited when you post a new video and this is no exception. Amazing shots despite the mad weather Thomas! Personally, I would’ve never taken out and set up my gear in that weather for fear of damaging or losing it. But it’s really nice to see what is possible if we are willing to step out of our comfort zone so long as we are being safe and smart about it. Keep up the good work and keep inspiring! :)

Wow Tom, that Irish coast is amazing. Quite scarily wild 😜 but really stunning. Love those black rocks on the beach & the majestic castle in the background. Fabulous moody conditions for us to view ( not as much fun when you're getting soaked though ! ) And what an incredible sight once the storm hit the coastline, not very easy at all to photograph, nightmare. Hope that guy's kit is ok? And you got incredible images in such challenging conditions😚

I was very much looking forward to seeing how you visioned and captured the Causeway Coast. You certainly got a baptism of storm, but I love the images you got.
