Let me know if you like this sit down and chat style of video! Good luck with any landscaping projects! Also, sorry for a some sections having pretty bad audio in this video, I recently got a new mic and I'll make sure the quality is better for the next one.

What are your thoughts on the plastic/vinyl edging? I ask because I have never been interested in edging my beds *that much* but I need to, but that steel edging is looking like ~$26 per 8 feet and just my quick math would lead to me investing hundreds just into that which is almost a nonstarter. This would be residential, not commercial. I have mostly St. Augustine with some centipede grass creeping around. The Augustine is easy to control along the edges, but the other needs more babying during the warmer months. Ive just been re-edging when I weed the beds or hitting them with the string trimmer during lawn maintenance.

I'm not as familiar with plastic edging, I've never installed it myself, my guess would be that in the long run it wouldn't last as long as the steel or concrete mow strips. You could ask around on local gardening groups for anyone who has installed plastic edging to get a better idea for the longevity of it.

I recommend against plastic vinyl edging. It may look good the first season. It may even look good the second season. But by the third season it will be basically useless. My recommendation if you're truly against purchasing the more expensive material, which is totally understandable, is to forgo material edging altogether and use the v-cut method.
