I sent them to Matt. The packaging I thought was substantial enough for the shipping. Landsknecht ships very well. I have never received anything from them that has been damaged. The two messers are over two years old and have had use on cutting. The kriegsmesser is about a year and some months. It has some damage from transport to and from where I practice. It has also been used to cut. The katzbalger is a new sword I just got. The bauernwehr is about two years old as well. I really appreciate Matt for his time. I hope he enjoys them as much as I do.

I am envious of how many Landsknecht Emporium blades you own (particularly left-handed ones)! Thank you for providing us the opportunity to see them! I own a Günther and a scabbard both by LE.

That is a really nice collection. I like when boxes are opened and everything in it fits a common theme. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- German blades of the 15th/16 century. typology according to Mr Jensen: ----------- 2:45 >pretty well done< short Messer, 4:46 >kinda liked< medium Messer, 5:34 Bauernwehr with >pretty cool looking< scabbard and designs ----------- 7:59 Katzbalger, with 7:03 >little bity< knives aka Beimesser or "Pfriem" (for eating, working, maintenance) 9:55 >pretty hefty< Großes Messer -----------

Very nice. Look forward to hearing more in future videos. Been on the fence about one from them for a while.

The image on the bauernwehr is Liszt's Totentanz (Dance of Death). Landsknecht does a lot of intricate leather carving on their scabbards if you wish to have it done.

I like those swords way too much LOL The only thing I can think of to request would be a picture of all the swords together so we can get perspective

That's a really neat idea for a follow up video. The swords in comparison with full body shots like he usually does when discussing katana. With "kata" snippets and all that.

Looking forward to the full review. I’m a Sabre fencer and have been thinking about one of their messers. Mostly because it’s hard to find a good handling and lightweight Sabre that isn’t an antique. Curious on your thoughts on how the messer feels?

What do u suggest for a good cutting katana high quality steel but also thick heavy metal and i can make it a custom color like green
@micahcampa3 жыл бұрын
well original swords are not perfect they have file marks canted guards some times but the edge nicks and other things i think they should work on the packaging system so they dont get messed up for the price they seem ok but will be looking forward to see what happens.

I have heard - not confirmed but have heard - that good leather is harder to obtain and more expensive in the wake of CV19 shutdowns, driving the up prices of unblemished hides. If true I could see how that would impact sword makers since leather wrapped scabbards are already expensive and time consuming to make and they might be trying to not have huge cost increases.
