Once the 💲💲start coming you should be able to make the outside of that shaker look as good as the inside! P.S. I did 37 years on the road and I really loved it. And yes you have to be out there the minimum of two weeks , you will do very well! Now I’m sure you lady is not gonna like that, I don’t know as it takes a strong woman to deal with it! That was my only problem, but she hung in there for me and I know your lady can do it to, just remember COMMUNICATION ...most important! 👍👍👍

Yeah it's dumb but I never claimed to be smart either haha. But nice thing is I won't have any debt to pay back thank goodness and I'll have a degree to fall back on if it for whatever reason trucking doesn't do it for me so I guess not entirely a waste. Try these agent for power only GAD dose FedEx powe only. Agent SOS do mostly power only .for divers that broke down and need to repower. Don't for get to ask for dead head. It's negotiable

I spoke to a guy from landstar today. I've been sold for a few months. Just been doing more research on the loadboard and seeing how other drivers book their loads for pre-planned trips etc. Only thing holding me back is finances for a truck. One thing many drivers talk about is emergency funds like 10k for surprise repairs and breakdowns. So im just trucking for a company then il be there for sure.

Yeah if you’ve never owned a truck I would def get some money up just in case cause these newer trucks are so unpredictable just remember as well when you go to buy a truck they give you a certain interest rate & after that they want 25% of the trucks cost in a down payment

We’ve had 3 Durango’s over the past 5 years or so and we’ve had no issues except for the screen would reset every time you shut the car off, but other than that, it’s been super reliable!

I’m in on operator for almost 7 years now my advice to you is keep your old truck I know from experience I drive a 98 every day you might have to work on it more than a guy does on a new truck but it’s not going to cost you 4 to 5 grand every time the check engine light comes on LOL And stick to your goals good luck man

They teach you how to use the electronic logs ? Their pretty easy after you get a hang of them. My company held out to they where force to put them in the trucks. Only thing that sucks is you gotta be truthful on them you can play with it alittle but not as much as the old paper logs but you gotta change with the times.

He is right about the resale value, I beg to differ about KW's Pete and KW's have the best resale value even though I like Freightliners the best, Western Stars are nice I drove them all. Get hauling lots and save some money. And to for your own authority. That's where you will make money. Hauling under someone else they leave less that 30% of the load price on the table for the driver. I learned my lesson there. I haul for myself and I average 3.65/mile every month and I haul for nothing less ththT 2.25/mile.

@@wilE6764 I would gross 150k/yr working 3 weeks out 2-3days home. Now under my own authority. I am sometimes out 24hr and sometimes 2-3 days. And now I gross almost 350k/yr and my truck trailer are mine. I pay my IFTA and insurance....but I know my trucks worth and I hold brokers to it. I don't jump on 1.00-1.75/mile. It really isn't worth being gone that long making someone else the money

Going from and to EXACT same warehouses. So I basically will make usually 4.00/mile my trailer. Then get paid 1.75-3.25/mile to power only their trailer. But I'm just hauling both at the same time. Fine the loop holes and play the brokers game.

@@TruckerAK tell 'em AK hauling containers ain't always smooth or easy. When I began couldn't always find good paying stepdeck loads so I pulled California Mersck and BNSF. Containers on rag chassis busted wiring shit tires all the way to New Jersey for 4.25/mile but California fuel was 4.00/gallon and NJ was $3.00 I always learn by trial and error. But I was never late and respectful to my agents. Now truck is paid for and stepdeck will be in December 2020 plus fuel is 2.68 in Cali and 1.99 in Jersery a whole different ballgame today.

Ya stay away from maximizer, I don't agree with him on having to stay out I have done 6 to 8k to the truck and home through the week and on weekends, I work alot harder but rather do that, stay in a region I think it pays better. Also just in case you don't know under the trailer section when searching for loads the SPEC will have power only loads to.
