Great video. I told you that you would do well at landstar.

Thanks for the transparency, I’m still working company @.77/mile LTL (doubles). I just bought my first truck in cash, doing some upgrades to it and stacking my capital and trying to find a good time to jump in the O/O market. Good luck to you, and good luck with your weight loss (look up the carnivore diet)

I tried it for a couple weeks a while back. It isn't too realistic for a trucker because your cooking options are very limited.

Which company is paying $.77cents per mile??? I would go work there
@Spaceman_YT3 ай бұрын
@@Ludanexpress This is a normal range for LTL carriers (pulling doubles triples), Estes Express Lines, Old Dominion Freight Line, AAA Cooper Transportation, me and my brother have worked at either all 3 separately and normally you start out at .68-.70/mile, and after a few years you’ll top out to .79/mi~. Plus other pay like drop and hook trailers, etc. It’s not terrible, but to make more money you have to buy your own equipment like I’m doing.
@Ludanexpress3 ай бұрын
@@Spaceman_YTthanks. I don't think you can make much more with your own equipment now with the way the market is, I have my own truck and trailer and own authority and it's hard these days, way more trucks on the roads than good loads, plenty of cheap ones for sure that will drive you down. That's why I was thinking going to landstar as well hopping they have a better freight, but by looking at these spread sheets it's nothing better than open market, no point of switching by the time all the deductions are taking out and if you have a truck payment you better off being a company driver and don't have all the headaches about breaking down, maintenance and so forth. Good Luck to you!!!

@@Ludanexpress thanks for your insight as well. I’m not going to leave this company unless something signals in the market that it’s a good time to jump in.

As someone with an analytical mind, I really appreciate the effort that you put into tracking your numbers. Keep it up and you will be VERY successful and congrats on the weight loss! I do have one critique regarding the way the spreadsheet calculates at least one of the numbers. My understanding is that with the Landstar contract 65% of the line haul, as well as some of the additional pay and 100% of the FSC and some other additional pays. According to the numbers that you list, you are only keeping 63.13% could you clarify this, either in a comment or in an up-coming video?

Your loads are paying good. Do all the landstar load spay that

It varies wildly. I try to plan for high paying loads. Go from one good area to another.

What meals do u eat on the road. Like directly what do u get or do u make stuff on the rig
@truckingthesevenseas3 ай бұрын
It is all in the spreadsheet if you are interested. Generally speaking my go to meal is uncl bens ready rice, eggs, potatoes and a meat source in an air fryer. I may do a video on it later.

How old is your truck and around how many miles does it have if you don't mind me asking. Just want to get an idea of the chance of a maintenance breakdown occurrence. Want to buy a used truck around the 300k-400k mile range. Want to see if it's possible to run a year without major issues. I know that stuff happens and we can't predict the future but would be good to know that it can be possible to run enough time to pad up an escrow account for maintenance issues.

Go to a reputable dealer. Finance a truck in the $30k-$40k price range, under 700k miles. The hauling company you choose is AS important as the truck you choose.
@truckingthesevenseas3 ай бұрын
Mine had 110k miles that I purchased for 60k. However it was a port service vehicle so it had high idle time. So the idle time was closer to 200k which is why it was cheaper.

Joining Landstar but the process has been taking way longer than expected. I'm on week 7-8 of onboarding just waiting for their instructions. Truck has been inspected and is just sitting ready. Could you pass me the contact info of who brought you on? Located in Las Vegas, NV.
