Great video, very enlightening. One question I have, this freight you showed picking up on August 8th and leaving on August 13th, if by chance it arrives earlier than expected, could you leave the cargo?

Those pickup and drop times are not correct. There's usually a window and the app just shows random dates in between the windows.

Depending on your engine specs, if you can keep your RPM below 1500, you'll get way better fuel economy. That means you'll probably be running around 65 down the highway. A little slower than what you're normally running, so pros and cons

So those two dollars a mile loads are before Landstar takes out their 35% cut , so you really are just making around 1.50 a mile. Am OO with Schneider and seriously thinking going to Landstar now that my truck is paid off

Holy cow a burrito was 2000 calories!? 😂 I’ll have to check that out next time I get one. Since everything in nutrition facts is based off a 2000 cal/day diet I guess that burrito is supposed to be your whole day according to FDA lol.

Well sort of.. It was a breakfast burrito in the morning and then a Mexican bowl in the afternoon... I simplify some food items into the same group so I don't have so many columns. But ya it was not an ideal day.
@fighter4christ72 ай бұрын
@@truckingthesevenseas ah I see, that makes sense. Honestly I don’t calorie count and today that seems to be old school weight loss, however if you’ve lost 8lbs it is working some. I’ve come to notice cutting out certain foods or certain food groups completely for an extended time shows real results. And the fasting of course. I’ve never struggled with weight and I actually lost 15lbs when I started driving because I was forgetting to eat 😂 I had also fasted for a week once and had nothing but water. Lost a total of 15lbs. Was crazy to watch weight fall off so quickly on the scale.

Yes I do actually. I am likely looking to start my own fleet/authority next year. I haven't announced anything on the channel yet as I'm still planning it. Its the next logical step for me... Company driver, lease operator, O/O leased on to company, now O/O with authority, then fleet owner.

I'm confused about the hotel. I understand the need for A/C in that heat, but why would you need to idle your truck for so long? You installed a new APU only a few months ago - is it still out of service?
@truckingthesevenseas2 ай бұрын
It works OK during the night so it does save me some costs by staying in the truck. The hotel is partly for pleasure... Gets me out of the truck, have a bathroom, shower, breakfast, gym, etc for effectively only about $30-40 more per night after considering the idling costs. Well worth it IMO.
@fighter4christ72 ай бұрын
APU’s I have learned unfortunately can’t always keep up with the heat. Sometimes the truck engine is needed to at least build up cool air and hopefully you have good insulation and the APU can keep it steady. But mid day over 100 degrees, unless you have one of the brand new electric ones you can forget about it.
@CarryMePlz22392 ай бұрын
@@fighter4christ7 are you talking about a REAL APU or Opti-Idle. I"m using opti-idle as I type this and it sounds exactly like what I have. Considering the costs of APUs, we'd think they'd be able to keep up with any heat
@fighter4christ72 ай бұрын
@@CarryMePlz2239 Real APU’s. I have the Carrier Comfort Pro. It only operates 2 vents in my sleeper which is not sufficient and has its own A/C lines. The trucks A/C system carries much more of a charge.

Why would you not add taxes and truck insurance? I know it’s a big cost per month. I’ve noticed a lot of KZbinrs never revel the actual net after ALL the deductions. I’m assuming to just make the net look better? Don’t get me wrong I appreciate the content that’s put out to help truckers like me that’s thinking of becoming an O/O with landstar but trying to figure in my head how much taxes and insurance would drop the profit is kinda scary!
