Fuel truck driver in Hawaii here, I make $2000 a week after taxes. I heard big cities like Denver and Minneapolis are paying even better, 100% paid family medical and dental, plus $20,000+ sign on bonuses.

@@romeostarlite21 how much driving experience do you have? When I got hired, they just wanted 3 years of class A experience. They trained me on everything about the tank, the deliveries, etc.

One more comment. I started at Sysco Foods for 3 years. I 100% would not recommend them unless you’re in your early 20’s. I also worked at YRC Freight out of Portland, OR for 2 years. I would 110% recommend YRC Freight. Great company, national teamsters contract, and plenty of work. Linehaul is paid mileage and city drivers are paid hourly. I drove linehaul and averaged well over $1500 a week take home working between 60-70 hours. They take guys fresh out of school, and in some instances will also do paid training if you sign a 1 year contract.

@@Cereal421 😂😂😂 didn’t see that coming lol. Either way, it was a great company while I was there. They’ve always had financial troubles since the mid 2000’s, but I never had issues with them paying me what I was owed.

As a cr England driver (ex) I did a Coca Cola run from Portland to seattle and back -12 hour days (60 week), I’d take home 1250 (net), gross was roughly 1650

@tylerdarby7268 i'll say get on your local job website and search for CDL job pay, or you can google the average CDL pay in your city. It will give you an average. Also, look into any government programs to see if they offer a CDL licence. If you can't find that, search your local CDL schools and see how much they charge and see if they can do a monthly instalment or through governmental college/university loan. Getting your licence through a trucking company comes with a lot of problems, like you have to sign a 1-2 year contract with them, and for that amount of time, you can basically say goodbye to your life. But then again, life as a truck driver is mostly working over the road long distances away from your family. If you're young, go for it, and later, you can look into other trucking jobs like waste collection, fuel hauling, etc, when you're done with long-distance driving.
