How to create a new brand that already has a long history, what is the idea behind Lang 1943, was Mr. Gerd-Rüdiger Lang involved, and what does it have to do with the “Dirty Dozen” and the British army? This time in search of the answers WATCHES TV went to beautiful Bavaria and have been hosted by Georg Bartkowiak, the man behind the project Lang 1943, who shared with us many secrets of the brand’s first edition of watches, the story behind it, some technical details, and most importantly, how to get this timepiece. Attractive watch and I wish them luck. Problem is there are so many startup brands today. Somebody wanting a new watch will probably go for the already established brands in Switzerland and Germany.

Quite a bit overpriced for a field watch in my view. Also the startling white of the seconds hand and dial seems incongruent with the aged fotina color of the rest of the dial. For my money, I would look at Stowa , Sinn or spend a bit more and look at a preowned Tudor or Omega.

Not exactly the same and not with an original vintage movement, but they are pretty cool i agree

Lang and Heyne, Marco Lang, Rolf Lang, and now Lang 1943. The watch watch space is starting to look and feel so un-German. Good luck to them, but it’s a no from me. Still trying to get a Lang & Heyne or a Marco Lang piece.

Good looking watch and nice movement project. But too much hipster marketing gossip... 03:30 Manufacture?? Not Buyafacture? You bought these movements... 05:30 Case size does not corrrelate with wrist size... in some way?

crystal glass on the back was used decades earlier in the pocket watches and later acrylic glass in late 20s early 30s in wristwatches -- he was not the 1st to do it !

@@user-zl2sc3bg3g I've seen numerous random brands - in most cases some unknown names and some very simple watches -- from bigger brands I know Zenith made some 'military' examples in mid 30s (both pocket and wristwatches ) with glass cover on the back (but this was for extra protection ? ) I'll try to find some other. + I've seen old pocket watch from 19th century with crystal glass on the back showing the movement ( unknown brand to me , some jaweler/watchmaker name >> possibly custom work but old not modern remake etc. )

You are incorrect - Gerd R Lang was the first watchmaker to introduce a SAPPHIRE case back to a mechanical WRISTWATCH.

@@quarters-eye8922 my comment was clear - I didn't say anything about sapphire because they said crystal

personally nothing flattering here. a lot of deja vu. the open caseback is a nice piece of history tho. debunked below it seems. also a bit dissapointed with the movement bridge anglage, agt this price point i would like a little more polish.

There is so much horsesh*t surrounding the European watch industry but I enjoy watching these boastful commercials that talk about how wonderful their watches are and their fake history for the most part. It's just a stupid watch and if you want the best, get a Japanese watch and be happy. I bet these people who are obsessive about watches have some kind of OCD and I bet they have other weird obsessions too, however, they put on a good show.
