We went out to check out the nightlife scene on a Saturday night in Langkawi, Malaysia. Since Malaysia is a Muslim country, we weren't exactly sure what to expect...would there be cool bars? Would it be any fun? Watch to find out.

Typical night life for most Muslim in Malaysia is hanging out with friends at Mamak restaurant while get "drunk" with teh tarik and roti canai. 😂 Thats why Mamak reataurant it open for 24 hours in Malaysia. ✌️

There's actually no 'Saturday' night there since Langkawi being part of Kedah technically have their weekends on Friday and Saturday while Sunday is the first working day.

Langkawi is a duty free island and drinking beer is cheaper than water. haha. There's alot of fun and happening spots there. You need to go to the right part of the island such as Chenang Beach. Missed out so much haha

I love Langkawi. Go there every year for a short break. The place you want to be for night life would be Pantai Cenang.

Kuah is not a tourist town only local people and the local tourists goes there for some shopping.Most foreigners and backpackers heads to pantai cenang where nightlife thrives

most drinkin soirees on the beach at night, Cenang Beach to be exact .. Kuah town doesnt really have muchof a nighlife. They have fire dance shows while lounging on bean bags and mats. They have few bars there as well

Yes, looking for some great deals items Kuah town is the best place to go for shopping.....the place that you guys stayed for night. If you are looking for a saturday night fever ..then Pantai Cenang @ Cenang Beach would be the colourful places to be..almost like Pattaya Beach with plenty of night clubs..the "dark side" of Langkawi 😁

If youre coming back to langkawi (and I hope you will), go to the cenang beach at night. Alot of bars with drinks and shisha while you can enjoy the slow music with sound of the ocean and fireshow. Also join the locals too coz trust me we love to have a conversation and have fun with strangers

Its bcs malay ppl r not drink beer , alcohol , whiskey etc. So , thats why the place is quit quiet. Also , the ppl here r not really having fun and working or do anything else at night bcs we probably just stay at home or else they're just spend time in a restaurant like (mamak). Thats all. It's not like Thailand that is lively nd happily at night. Clubbing or party at night is not really got a respon by us but some of them like non muslim did it or they're going to that place. But the fact is most of malay ppl r not doing such of that things. Our life is different to compare with west ppl. But anyway I love to watch a vid about how people from another country like u guys do a reaction nd travelling to my country. Thats so incredible :)

U guys should stay in cenang,in Kuah town they're some Chinese restaurants open it's not that far from cocovalley but for clubs it might be underwhelming compared to Pattaya but Langkawi is more calming to be honest..not that many cars when i worked there for 3years😄

Car rentals start at RM60 (around USD 15-18 per day 24hrs) Scooters start at RM 35 (around USD8-12 24hrs) There's is also e-hailing rides for when you too drunk to drive ;)

Just curious guys, have you abandoned your ethos of visiting more under the radar places for your time in SE Asia? Everywhere you've been so far is mega popular/touristy, there are literally hundreds of places you could be exploring that don't get so many visitors.

This is a great question!! Of course we are still planning to visit under-the-radar places, BUT we are also in Asia for the first time and trying to get acquainted first :) Plus, many of the places we visited might have tourism, but they are less-touristy options for mega-popular destinations (Koh Phangan vs. Koh Samui, Krabi vs. Phuket). We think it's just as important to feature less-touristy options (even if they are already "on the map" so to speak). We'll be heading way more under the radar in 2020 so stay tuned for that :)

Langkawi isn't the place for thriving nightlife if that is what you were looking for. Penang is better for that and many of Thai islands too. However, I think Langkawi is a very beautiful island with good food and friendly people. It is a mainly muslim dominated island so that of kind nightlife you will not expect. Even Ao Nang (Krabi, Thailand) is predominately muslim area doesn't have the kind of nightlife that Phuket or Koh Samui would have

Regarding alcohol as you mentioned..we did not force non muslims to avoid it. But we encourage them not show off or have it the sort of big partying wth alcohol in muslim ereas..as sign of respect..we welcome any tourists..from any country..

@@JackandGabExplore You guys are pretty down to earth.....like what I see...mmm...only problem in Langkawi is you stay at the wrong side of the island...should have gone to Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah...beach bars, discos and lots of things to do...will able to meet more foriegners...more convenient also to travel via Grap since Langkawi public transport sucks or rent a scooter about RM30 to 40 for a whole day...can ride around the island...but all in all, I like your videos..Have fun...Stay safe and have a meaningful adventure travel

Those who said the Malaysia is not a Muslim country (technically Malaysia is not a country but a Federation of States. Some State are Islamic - some are not. Ie Penang Melaka Sabah and Sarawak) please do read our Federal Constitution Article 3 (1). It is expressly clear that Islam is the religion of the federation.
