What is the make/model of your rotary air compressor?

New subscriber. This is the table I’m seriously considering.

I have the outer cut on sheetcam reversed I think your outer cut needs to go the other way (clockwise) and you will see a difference on cut quality.

Matt, good video. I am considering buying a Pro to cut .125 5052 aluminum. I wanted to know if you have any issues with hydrogen gas in the water and if you add anything to the water to resolve that ? Also can you cut small holes like 1/8” ? Thanks in advance. Al

I have never addressed hydrogen gas; I’ve never had a significant issue with it except during one full sheet cut the plasma starts were sometimes preceded with an audible “pop” as the H2 ignited that was trapped under the sheet. My shop is well ventilated; I have a large Dayton fan mounted in the end of one wall that helps keep a steady flow of fresh air through the building. This would prevent any significant accumulation of H2 during cutting operation. But, even without it, I can’t see it being a real issue. I don’t rely on any level of accuracy for holes smaller than about 1/4”. For smaller holes I usually undersize them with the plasma and then follow up with a drill bit to bring them to their final size.

@@MattVerley Thanks Matt for your answers. I might wind up having to bump up to the 4x6 table because my largest part is 34.5” in diameter and the Pro only goes to 33 and change in the one direction ☹️

Great video I got my table last fall but didn't have heat in the garage so it sat all winter hoping to fire it up as soon as the snow is gone. Just one question what type of machine torch are you using. I bought a xp 45 plasma .

What size tube did you use for the caster mod?
@urphonesucks4 жыл бұрын
2nd this comment. Can you do a little quick video on the caster feet? Swear I don't have a fetish. My first box arrives this week and hopefully the rest of the PRO arrives soon thereafter.

I don't know if it's your camera angles or if it is actually the size but this video makes the Crossfire Pro look huge. I am in the market for a CNC plasma table but after watching your video, I am going to have to put some thought into which model to get based on how much room I have in my workshop.

I use fusion to generate g code and I don’t have any issues of order to cut out

I'm used to using sheetcam; it is what I used on my old table. I tried using the CAM process in Fusion360 and felt like it was a bit slower...so I just went back to sheetcam. It *usually* does the proper cut order, but it is 100% foolproof if I create all of my inside offset cuts in one drawing and outside cut in a separate one.

I would need quite a bit more information to help troubleshoot...it is probably best to post your issue in the Langmuir systems forum. Lots of folks there who can help, instead of just me: forum.langmuirsystems.com/c/crossfire-pro

Matt, I just upgraded my RazorCut 45 to the Hypertherm powermax 65, I bought the Langmuir pigtail for it for my Pro table, man talk about relearning a new system, would you mind sharing the setting on your Hypertherm, meaning what's your kerf width on that, for the old RazorCut it was set at .055", how did you set up your tool on Fusion 360?

Was looking at a larger table for sign making etc.....have you had a chance to do a larger cut that required you to index the material due to the job being larger than the table? Just curious if this could be easily done or if it would just be better to go with larger table capacity. Great video....subscribed!

Nice Job! I am looking for my first CNC table and your video was very helpful. Do you have a recommendation for the plasma cutter? Thanks.

Any issues with the THC and the diamond plate?
@MattVerley4 жыл бұрын
No issues whatsoever, in fact it does an excellent job of moving the torch up-and-down as it goes over the raised diamonds.
@Gask3y4 жыл бұрын
You can actually see it raise and lower in the video. Good stuff.

Caution to anyone cutting Aluminum with Water, IF the Aluminum has Lithium as part of the alloy, there can be an explosion, also Aluminum particles with a non Lithium alloy when submerged in water can create Hydrogen Gas and also can explode. Best to talk to your plasma cutter and table vendor. Safety first...take care folks...
