Punjabi vs Persian language challenge! Talha from Pakistan says phrases in Punjabi and I say phrases in Persian then we see how many words each of us got right! We also came across a few similarities between Punjabi and Persian.
Punjabi is an Indo-Aryan language spoken mainly in Punjab region of Pakistan and India. It is also widely spoken in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi.
Persian is the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

My mother language is Panjabi but I speak Urdu & Arabic as well, I noticed that there are words in Panjabi are basically Farsi .. like we say "zananiya" the singular for this word is "zan" which means "woman" & we also say "Ran" means "woman" too. The word "Panjab" (Panj-aab) literally means "five waters" it actally refers to the five rivers. Thank you for your time & effort for making this video.

Amir, you used the wrong alphabet for Punjabi. The Punjabi script in Pakistan uses shahmukhi (which looks like Persian alphabet). The script you used was gurumukhi (which is the alphabet for Indian Punjabis and looks like Hindi). The area of Punjab is half in Pakistan and half in India.

That Punjabi you have written here is Indian Punjabi. In Pakistan, Punjabi is written with Arabic alphabets same as Persian and Urdu. On google translate the "Punjabi" you see is wriiten in "Gurmukhi" font, derived from the traditional Indian fonts used for Hindi and other Indian languages.

Oh not really punjabi alphabets are completely different then hindi alphabets or script hindi is based on Sanskrit's Devanagari script and punjabi on gurmukhi script of punjab which was used to write guru grainth shaheb which is sikh's religious book and also considered their 10th guru anyways the thing i was talking about is that they are different scripts

Pakistans official languages are Urdu and English. Pakistans provincial languages are Punjabi, Pashto, Sindi, Balochi, Serikhi, Gilgiti, Potwari (Kashmiri). Urdu language has been heavily influenced by Farsi, Arabic, Turkish and some Kurdish. Urdu and Hindi are almost the same language but the written form is completely different. Five Rivers northern punjabis are different from southern punjabis. There are physical differences in features by someone from Jhelum and Multan. Unfortunately Pakistani does not mean Punjabi. There are Sindis, Kahsmirs, Baloch and Pashtuns who are also Pakistani.

Mayank Singh Rajput bro they may know it because they know urdu from movies and poetry but it's not hindi if you say it is it doesn't make it a reality bro hindi is a artificial language anyways they just added Sanskrit vocabulary in the existing urdu language and started writing in Sanskrit's devanagri script do you even know that they had to modified Devanagari to make it write urdu words because original it can't ़ंं these dots and many more thing s were added to the original Sanskrit script to make it used for our stolen language there was only one language hindi is only a result of hatred and racist ideology of hindus and extremists of that time please go and learn history of these languages there is no text available in current hindi before 1900s

Urdu is national language of Pakistan and English is official ..so in Pakistan there are 4 provinces ...so the person who live in punjab speak punjabi ...in pakistan oer 60 languages are spoken but if you ask me about Urdu most of Pakistan know it and its used in school + to communicate in whole Pakistan ..

Punjabi and urdu: For this guy, none. Punjabi is regional, Urdu is a literary language and nationally spoken in Pakistan. Persian and urdu: persian is an old old language.. Mainly spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and was the official language of subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) in the Mughal Empire. Urdu is almost 50% made of persian but persian itself is 65% of Arabic.. So kinda provided you lotta detail.

Lolly Hr Punjabi is spoken in Punjab region of India and Pakistan, Delhi, haryana and other regions of northern India. Indian pujabis use gurumukhi script but Pakistani Punjabis use Arabic script but the spoken language is similar. Urdu is spoken in north and central India and some other parts of India and Pakistan. Urdu is the national language and official language of Pakistan and also one of recognized official language of India. Urdu is written in Arabic or nastalic script. Although only 10% of the Pakistan's population natively speak Urdu but it is widely spoken language in Pakistan. Urdu and Hindi are grammatically almost similar but Hindi is written in devanagari script and Urdu has more Persian and Arabic words in it's vocabulary. But it's still mutually intelligible. Punjabi and Urdu both belong to the indo-arian brunch of the Indo-european language family.
