This video came out at the perfect time! I came across your channel earlier this year and it inspired me to start taking Vietnamese lessons! Then while I was planning for my goals next year, I decided to sign up for Japanese classes since I'm feeling comfortable with my level in Vietnamese. I wasn't sure how to balance learning both, so I was looking through your channel again when this video published. Thank you for sharing your plans and I'm looking forward to your quarterly check-in!

You are a great inspiration, Lindie! Goodluck on your journey with Tagalog. I'm just too happy that you are learning our language. 💓 Godbless you always!

I'm also taking a quarterly approach to learning. 2021 will see me focus on Japanese, but for January-March the only goal I have is to review what I already know. I took a lengthy break, and now I need to get myself up to speed again before making further plans. That should take me back to a solid N4 level.

I was so excited for this video!! It's really motivating to see someone talk about their own language goals!! As for myself, I just formulated my goals for French and Italian (January until March) and I'm pretty excited about them!! Can't wait to start :) Good luck to everyonee, and I'd love to read some of your language goals, it might inspire me :)

Such great advice! I love small goals. I've added "journal a paragraph" and "watch a video/listen to a podcast" to my weekly to-do's, and am excited to see how these new habits grow.

I have been consuming Korean Dramas, Variety Shows and Music for a couple of years now. I have my first class in the coming week and this channel has really helped me curb my anxiety about learning the Korean Language as I am a slow learner. I am bilingual (English and Malay) as well and I hope that will help me. Thank you for this. It really helps. Definitely interested to understand other fields.

Awww, such a lovely video! Thank you so much for giving me so many ideas about how to structure my language learning year. I love the way of going "these chapters take me three days, so I'm giving myself a week". Also, I WOULD LOVE TO WATCH VIDEOS ABOUT DESIGN. Thank you for yet again a beautiful video about design

Glad to see you're taking care of yourself, giving yourself flexibility in your plans. I'm still in the honeymoon period with Swedish. In 35 days I worked through the Duolingo skill tree, but only half way fully complete. Next year, my goal is to continue working on it. I want to have conversations with people I met online, understand and reply on Swedish twitter, and understand a Swedish stand up comic.

Absolutely, Lindie. We love to see it if you share some UI/UX designs tips, trends, or anything! Language-learning should not be a chore, or something that stresses us out but rather, a hobby where we find it very comfortable and relaxing to do. (I think I'm gonna go for monthly goals rather than quarterly, for I don't know what 2021 will bring to me.) Thank you!

Your approach to language learning is so inspiring and it also changed my way of thinking about it so that the only thing I can say now is big big THANK YOU for what you're doing here and on Instagram ^^ Also, I wish you all the best in 2021! Much energy, motivation and happiness!

Definitely have to take languages at your own pace. I'm still on the private tutor train for Korean 2x a week, since I have an aggressive goal to be intermediate/"street-okay" by summer of next year. But, after that, I'll likely dial that back and generalize more to include Mandarin and Korean across a wider time range. Looking forward to seeing you learn the new languages, especially Tagalog! It'll be my first time watching someone learning my native language from relative scratch. Haha. Sana masaya para sa inyo po na matuto ng Tagalog. :)

Totally with you on the more relaxed goals for the new year. I read this book recently 성과를 지배하는 바인더의 힘 and got the 3p바인더 and loving the system of setting goals, weekly, monthly planning etc but also trying to be easy on myself if things don't go to plan. Have fun and enjoy the language journey~ 2021 we're ready for you ^^

Lindie I love your plans for 2021 and taking it easier and more flexible. This is your life, your decisions, your plans. You can do it in your own pace and if you change your mind, then that's ok too. Life has so much to offer and time runs by so fast. We don't have to stick to plans we have made... we are always free to adapt. Sending love and all the best to you and your loved ones. Merry Christmas and have a wonderful rest of the year. ❤️

I am thankful to you. i started learning Japanese last year. this year Korean , Chinese, French and Russian. To be honest, your last year's language plan felt like such an difficult task to maintain that I couldn't really visualize it for me. But this one is amazing, how you're approaching languages as a fun ride is really relatable for me! I suck so much at sticking to a plan but next year I want to take the JLPT N1 so I really need to do even a little bit of planing and this video helped me so much! I love your videos and I hope your Tagalog and Hungarian journey be extremely successful. Love from Brasil 🇧🇷❤️

Habit stacking sounds like a terrific idea, I'm so glad I watched this video, Lindy, thank you! 🤩 I've been having a hard time making learning Korean a part of my daily life and starting German because of work, but habit stacking is definitely worth a try and actually sounds fun 🌝 Happy holidays! ✌🏻💚 You've been a huge help for me in terms of motivation mostly so thank you ♡ I hope everything goes smoothly in your language learning journey and I'm looking forward to your future videos in the new year!~

I would love to see you talk about design and your other projects! I like that you're making quarterly goals and you're focusing on a couple of languages instead of trying to focus on all of the languages at the same time. I'm also planning out my goals three months at a time. I started doing that this year and it works so much nicer. I think I'm going to try to pick one or two focus language(s) each quarter too. That seems like a good idea. I love the idea of habit stacking too. I'm gonna have to see if I can implement that myself lol. Best of luck with Hungarian and Tagalog!
