Just for the record, because it was said in the interview: Oil is not dead dinosaurs. The organic layers that were turned into fossil fuels by the pressure of millions of years of ground pushing down on them are older than any dinosaurs.

Its a little more complicated than that also for fossil fuels more broadly. Oil is generally speaking from ancient marine life; like, dinosaur eras and beyond; including all the way back to just after the Cambrian era. So oil is the really old fossil fuel generally. Then there's coal. Basically all coal on this planet is from the Carboniferous period trees that died and were buried, before wood eating microbes and decomposers evolved. In other words, while the Earth probably will always naturally have at least some oil or natural, new coal seams aren't likely to form over geological timescales (though new deposits do form, just in more limited environments now than in the Carboniferous which was extremely permissive to coal formation). Natural gas can be from all sorts of organic sources, still takes millions though technically can form faster than oil or coal.

The fact that she mentions nuclear energy in the same breath as renewable energies shows that she herself is not immune to propaganda. And the nuclear lobby is very successful at greenwashing itself. In reality, however, it is neither renewable, CO²-neutral nor compatible with intergenerational justice. It is also expensive, risky, inflexible and privatizes profits and collectivizes costs and risks.

@@theawesomewillyt Where exactly did I promote natural gas? What you don't seem to know is that the fossil fuel and nuclear industries have quite some overlap. Not only are some companies operationally active in both sectors, they often also have common political goals and lobby together, for example to prevent certain climate protection laws, etc. One example is the support of CCS (carbon capture and storage) technologies.

There has been no increase in tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, droughts, wildfires, heatwaves, or catastrophic sea level rise........ there are no climate refugees. The Arctic is now in the same state it was in the 1950s, before massive ice gains between 1960 and 1978. The Antarctic has gain 661gt of ice since 1980..........where is the "Climate Crisis"?

It's a measure of interest in a topic. Yeah, nothing you said will get to your rep, but you do get counted in a column in a spreadsheet somewhere and if that number gets big enough, they'll notice. It's not much at all, but it does have an impact.
