I had covid in April 2020 and I was quite sick. I lost a stonne in Weight in one week. I didn't eat for seven days, didn't go to toilet for eight days and didn't drink any fluids for four days. I contracted it whilst at work on an Emergency Frontline Ambulance. I now have long covid. Trying to get my fitness back and maybe one day, I may get back to some normality. Great video.

@cathheise if you search Google you can find tabs that you can connect inners to outers however it turns out they wont stick to sil nylon tents so I never got them in the end. If your any good at sewing you could maybe stitch a patch in to each layer then short bungee attaching them together and it would give you a bit more room. It all adds up 👍

I think lengthening the loop on the top bungie will lose you a bit of height in the inner, but considering your height and how little it's bothered you it must be tiny. Will help to keep the inner away from the fly above the guy out points, too. I'd do it if I didn't have the j zip inner. Only mods I've done to mine aren't really mods; just replaced the nylon cords in the bottom of the doors that attach to the hook with shock cord, and replaced the nylon cord on the inner at the back with shock cord.
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
Yes it doesn't seem to have caused an issue with head height but certainly releases the tension on the zips while still keeping it taught. 👍
@Fishandchips90283 жыл бұрын
Surely the lanshan uses 120cm walking pole but they assume you will push in 1inch of the pole into the grass up to the snow cup so that's why yours is too tight
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
It's not too tight, I just want max headroom. Also the recommended height is 125cm. As this is the larger version width ways it will also give a little more height. Obviously with a trekking pole you can adjust to suit you personally and lower subject to the weather so I would swap the carbon pole with the trekking pole then 👍

@sixties002 жыл бұрын
@@NoviceWildCamper Double wall ofcourse!
@NoviceWildCamper2 жыл бұрын
Ok. Well I've had it in almost every weather situation and not experienced any condensation apart from a tiny bit of damp pace but nothing that affected anything inside. I would recommend keeping the pole as high as possible (around 125cm) to ensure good ventilation under the fly and also pegging put all guy likes as far as possible to keep the fly away from the inner to help. If you experience extreme wind then lower it to drop the fly for protection and it that situation you'll get no condensation. As the wind will counteract that anyway. Make sure you seam seal the guy out points as they can leak in the rain and ideally use the footprint as it helps with everything from wetting it up right to protection. Check my later video for other mods I've done to improve the tent and you won't go wrong. 👍

Hi Mike, do you have any info on the little tabs you can glue to the inner and then inside of the outer to further tension the inner, I'm finding mine is sagging quite a bit at both head and foot ends of the tent. Thanks Joe
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe. I enquired and apparently you can't attach them to silnylon as I was thinking about the same. The only thing I have found is when pitched perfectly and using my trekking poles on each end to raise the angle of the guy line pull, it seems to be fine then. It was only the first one or two times I felt it needed it but not any more. There's nothing to say you couldn't attach something similar to what is already there and just use silicon to glue it as it will probably work as there shouldn't be too much tension against it if only to hold the inner closer. Careful of condensation getting on your inner though if too close. Cheers Joe 👍
@shabingly3 жыл бұрын
I've only used mine once for 3 nights, but I found getting the 3 guys that are attached to the fly pegged out as far away as you possibly can makes a fair amount of difference as well.
@quietfire2863 жыл бұрын
@@shabingly thanks, yes agree that makes a big difference, on a nice flat pitch it's not so bad, but wild camping it's hard to find a very flat pitch with even ground. I think an additional two attachments from the inner to outer on 2 of the inside panels would greatly improve the tension of the inner. So far i've found a bit of a hack by stuffing some of my bags into some of the corners... this pushes the inner away from my head and feet, though it cn sometimes cause the inner to touch the outer... Not ideal... I'm going to see if i can rig up something when it gets warmer next year.
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
I have found that when using the trekking poles at the head and foot end it helps a lot with not only inner space but also tensioning the inner with the outer being so taught and pulled up. As said, the rear I extend as far as possible for the greatest angle then tighten and it seems to work well 👍

Hi Michael. Looking at ordering this tent with the Tzip... Seem a review which mentions their zips don't close all the way. Even if forced the horizontal zips open up themselves. Have you found this an issue on yours? My immediate thoughts are that the reviewer was using too long of a rod and therefore putting too much pressure on the door zip.
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
Hi. You are correct. I had the pole too tight when I first did it in my opening review video what I actually did was to loosen the bungee at the top that hold the inner to the fly so that I could keep the height at 125cm as I wanted as much space as possible. Since then I've had not issues with the zips. Basically if you have it less that 125cm high it should be fine if not undo the double knot bungee into a single not letting it expand then you'll be fine. 👍

@@NoviceWildCamper Yeah, I ordered the Lanshan 1 and it's too short for me. I have now ordered the Plus version from Aliexpress. Should have it in a month or so. Thanks for your time! And keep at the video's, Just keep it real and honest and you will do well. ;)

Just recd my Lanshan 1 Plus but annoyingly although it has a 4 season inner, it has a j-door - wonder if they have changed it again?
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
That's annoying. I think its dependent upon where you get it from. The T door is so much better. Atb 🙏

Hi Mike, nice video again. Looks like a perfect pitch, with more room inside. I'm just thinking about buying a Lanshan 1 plus, too but with the 3-season inner. I'm 1,90 m tall and my sleeping pad is close to 10 cm thick. From your experience (and with the new tight pitch), do you think there'll be enough room inside? Don't want to touch the inner with my head and sleeping bag all the time. Keep up the good work. Cheers from Germany Eike

Should be just OK. I'm working on a mod to pull the inner closer to the outer for even more space but that will be for another video. Thanks for watching 🙏👍

Hi... Just researching these tents. What version do yoy have here.... 3 or 4 season? It looks like yoy have a full inner skin but the skirts of a 3 season.
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
There is no skirts on either. The only difference between 3 and 4 season is the inner. I have the 4 season on this but have the 3 season on order. Its. It a true four season with skirts etc. Like other more hard-core manufacturers. I wouldn't pitch this on top of a mountain in winter for example 👍

Hi Mike, good review of the Lanshan. Thinking of getting one. For those foil bags off eBay, will food keep in them for more than a day?
@NoviceWildCamper3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the temperature. I tend to freeze stuff yo take with me and let it thaw for the next day or boild while frozen. Cant see it being any different to leaving it in a tin to be honest. 👍

@@NoviceWildCamper Thanks Mike. I bought some and put chilli in them. I was a bit unsure of whether they need to be vacuum sealed to keep or treated in some way. I froze them and will take them out when I go next. Btw that spot look really nice. A good place to clear your head and think. ATB David

125cm. But I wanted it at the maximum height so i could sit up. You could go lower so its nearer the ground if you prefer. 👍
