I was so surprised by how much I loved Mian Mian the first time I watched the show. I just wasn't expecting them to put that much time and effort into a female background character. The way she continued to stick up fo WWX even as everyone turned on him, despite not being close to him, (such as Yanli, and Wen Qing) melted my heart.

I know I said this before but I just have to say it again; I love how well the Untamed writers implemented the female characters. Especially Shijie. I didn’t take much notice of her in the novel, even when her death came around. But in the Untamed, I got attached to her, not just thanks to the writing and the writers, but the actress herself, Xuan Lui!
