Hi Mike, we're a naturist couple who regularly holiday in Charco del Palo. The naked cyclist was merely exercising his right to be naked as per the Spanish constitution (unless specific bylaws are in place) so therefore isn't doing anything to be 'caught for' It's simply a body, we all have one! Love the channel and look forward to the weekly updates👍🏼

Thanks for all the updates regarding Lanzarote great to hear Arrecifé is getting som TLC we always visit when on the island, just one concern we wanted to eat at Strava restaurant near the church & when we got there around noon every single table had a “reserved “ sign on it! We realised after there was a cruis shop in port, is this common practice to put reserved on every table as it was deserted is this to prevent non locals from taking up tables?? We always try to eat local once during our stay and we’re disappointed not to dine there 😞

Strava is a pretty small place, so it could be that every table was booked. But there may be another thing in play. In Spain, the convention is that you wait to be seated by one of the staff, but in some other cultures, it's quite normal to simply grab a free table and sit down. By putting reserved on every table, at least everyone arriving will be asking the question "Do you have a table?" And that gives them the opportunity to control the numbers, and even check if people are planning to eat, rather than just having a coffee or a beer.

Thanks, it’s was strange as every other restaurant around there didn’t have any such signs, I can appreciate they would rather have a table eating lunch instead of someone just having a coffee it would make economic sense but we asked for a table for lunch and it was a blank No “we’re fully booked “ it is of course their Choice as owners of the restaurant we were just disappointed as the reviews were excellent

Hi Mike. Great video as always. You may know the owner of Casa Pedro in Playa Blanca has retired after 40 years (remember it was he of the “€125 prawns” scandal that featured in the UK press). Casa Pedro is in a great spot on the front promenade at Playa Blanca - do you know if anyone is to take it over?? Thanks. 🍤🍤🍤🦐🦐🦐

Thanks so much for this info it’s very much appreciated. I know the island pretty well but haven’t been to the picnic spot. Can you give me a rough guide. Is it accessed from Haria. I’ve been going for three month trips to Costa Teguise for the last 6 years, so just some small indicators would suffice. Thanks so much again

If you drive up the bendy road from Haria to the very top, just past the restaurant, there's a turning to the right, follow the track and signs. You can also leave your car in the big layby at the top of the hill, and walk the track.

So far two have closed down in Greece, but we don't have any updates on the ones here in The Canaries. I think it all depends on what the receivers decide to do.

Thanks, as always, for this video. But, as far as we can see, who needs cruise ships? We certainly don't want to see any near here. What kind of tourists is Lanzarote hoping to get? But maybe as long as it brings the money in, it's OK.

I suspect the people who enjoy cruising want them. But for the island, they're great. They bring people here to spend their money and enjoy Lanzarote, loads of local businesses earn revenue by taking them on excursions, and the passengers don't put any strain on our infrastructure, because they're not actually staying here using the accommodation, water, electricity etc. Finally, many a cruise passenger has visited Lanzarote for the first time on a cruise, fallen in love with the island, and become a regular visitor. Why don't you want to see any cruise ships here?

@@LanzaroteInformation Then we find it very surprising that some places are refusing to allow cruise ships to dock. We would like to see tourists who stay longer than the current average stay. Less pollution from planes and cruise ships.

There are no plans to tarmac the road, Dave. My personal view is that's a good thing. Part of the charm of the place is that an old camino takes you to it, and I think it would tragic to dump tons of concrete and tarmac in that lovely rural area.
