First Time Visitor To Lanzarote (14 tips!)

Hi Mike, informative as usual, thank you. I have travelled to Lanzarote many times and needed medical help for the first time this year. The Tias health centre was not very helpful as they considered my issue not to be an emergency, although I did. This is when I discovered that my medical insurance didn't cover private healthcare - read the small print! Presumably some companies do but certainly not all.

Great information as usual and great that you included rough prices of taxis from the airport, alot of people including ourselves when we first visited had a pre booked private taxi which was 3 times as much as a local taxi. Since then we always hire a car as its just so easy, Thanks again for the videos

Great information as usual 👍 We stay by the Grand Casino in PDC and never paid more than 15 euros for a airport taxi Another good tip for driving is if you are married your wedding ring is in the middle of the road 😂😂😂that's what we used to remember when driving in Greece. We have never driven in Lanzarote to many one way systems we would get lost 😂

Have visited the island previously and have a family hol booked for next year, i have looked into car hire and agree the rental prices are good - but the deposit rates are very high. Thank you 😁. Is it correct that if you are driving a hire car you must have your passport with you as well as driving licence in case you are stopped please?

Not strictly speaking. But the law here is that you must have photo ID with you at all times, so if your Driver’s licence is a photo ID, that would suffice for a police stop. But if you live in a country that doesn’t have ID Cards, then having your passport with you is useful, if for example, you need medical treatment or are involved in an accident.

Oat milk is "leche de avena.” pronounced letch-ay de avenna. But I’m not sure how many cafés will have it.

That would make no sense to anyone. “Visit the Saturday market at "I would do," then head down to "white beach," before having lunch at "The Gulf," and returning home to "reef.”
