Luang Prabang, Laos - remote village tour of Xieng Mene in the Luang Prabang area. Let's travel to Laos and let's tour a small, remote Laos village in the vicinity of the city of Luang Prabang. Here are a few scenes and images from a rural village in Laos close to Luang Prabang. This village is located at the other bank of the Mekong River from where Luang Prabang is built on.

Louangphabang, or Luang Phabang, literally meaning: "Royal Buddha Image" is a city in north central Laos, consisting of 58 adjacent villages, of which 33 comprise the UNESCO Town Of Luang Prabang World Heritage Site.
Laos is a Southeast Asian country traversed by the Mekong River and known for mountainous terrain, French colonial architecture, hill tribe settlements and Buddhist monasteries. Vientiane, the capital, is the site of the That Luang monument, where a reliquary reportedly houses the Buddha’s breastbone, plus the Patuxai war memorial and Talat Sao (Morning Market), a complex jammed with food, clothes and craft stalls.
