So a full frame 35mm f/0.95 lens! Do you want one? And what other crazy lens you want the guys from Laowa to create next?

I bought this lens and fell in love with it. It’s a little heavy but the photos are so beautiful.

Personally I will always want to have the longest throw on focus ring. Especially if its 0.95. And I think they did that for video shooters as they need most control.

It is far more important to fine-tune your focusing around specific point than quickly change from say 1m to 3m . If you need anything quickly get autofocus

These super wide apertures are more of a "niche" I think. Most times you end up stepping down to get better shots, but all in all, nice to have choices. As always, great reviews!

Thanks for watching! It definitely is more a "niche" than something everyone would/could buy and use. I personally love it though. And i feel if you buy a lens like this, you really should shoot at/near wide open most of time otherwise why buy a 0.95 lens?

Wow Richard, very cool! I love my 35mm f/1.8 Z, but it seems pretty wimpy compared to the f/0.95! …well, I’m exaggerating, the Nikon is not really wimpy, since of course they are very different lenses; one that is all about character and rendering, the other is more about sharpness and technical image quality. Similar prices, though, in the Nikon lineup. The Z 1.8 is very practical with its fast autofocus and light weight, but looking at your test photos it’s clear that the Laowa produces some stunning and unique imagery. Thanks for the review and the beautiful photos!

Hi Christopher, Yes agree with what you said, it's a VERY different lens to the Nikon Z. Both are great but just very very different. One is technical perfection, one is fun, character and crazy shallow DOF. Thank you for watching and comment!

Too bad that it's not available for L mount! I'm hoping (or dreaming) for a second version of this lens in the future which is lighter, has electronic contacts and is available for L mount :D
@TheRealRichardWong3 жыл бұрын
yeah If we keep asking for L-mount we may have it :) Electronic contacts would be awesome too like what they did with their new m43 lenses! I do have a L-mount 0.95 lens review coming very soon hopefully even this weel :)
