All those responding units should have wig-wag headlamps, especially the last older Crown Vic with only on front steady-burn red. Wig-wags greatly increase recognition to other motorists.

it's a tedious process but i back up all my videos to my google photos including my screenshots from my camera for thumbnails through my computer then i save the photos through the google photos app onto my phone, i use the POTO collage app, make it fit the 16:9 save it to google photos download it to my computer convert the PNG to a Jpeg on a website download that and make that my thumbnail. im used to it but finding what works can be hard.

In California you only need a single forward facing solid red light by CA law. It’s more of a tradition thing, I personally love these old cars that keep it minimal it’s rare to see now.

Why do the lights turn to one red and one blue steady burn when they cut off the siren

CA law requires at least one steady burn red light visible 1000ft to the front. Most depts add in a blue as well. When the officer cuts off the full bar and goes steady red/blue they are still technically rolling code (minus the siren). On traffic stops I always cut the bar off in front and just leave the steadys on. Hope that helps answer things.

I'm just going to say this... I hate California's steady-burn red emergency light law. It works fine on some vehicles, but on the last CVPI, the only light in the front is steady-burn. It definitely does not do much "warning" in traffic. I _understand_ they can add more lights... I just think the law is unnecessary.

it is and the CHP is very anal about stuff but at the same time that last vic is a california staple! growing up here seeing an old vic cutting it up with only a solid red and a rear halogen amber flashing with maybe a red or blue is priceless to me!

Unless I "miss-saw" the white vehicle behind you, they only had dim blue lights, not California compliant. The rest were quite "10-8"

@@jxshra8447 It was back in the late 80's, and early 90's when I was a Police Explorer in Arcadia, California. The Explorers, Cadets and young Officers replaced the term "Cool" + "They got their shit together" with "10-8"

LAPD are known to use such minimal lighting because of the assignment and what vehicle it is assigned to (detectives, gang units, etc).

Alternatively, LAPD also has a lot of unmarked vehicles which have no emergency lights, just a antenna (may not be visible or used), and LAPD calls them plain vehicles.
