The guys who do this are very dedicated. My son is in this line of work and went to University for a degree in Administration of Justice and a minor in Philosophy. He works out every day for at least two hours and takes Taekwondo classes 2 times a week. A Liberal bakery in our neighborhood of San Francisco "Reem's Bakery" refused him entry/service since he was armed. He is a federal police officer who does mostly very intence work, typically involving inocent victims.

I would say that the LAPD swat unit is probably the most disciplined swat unit out of all civilian law enforcement agencies. Miami Dade county SWAT unit in Florida definitely a close second they’ve taken all emotional out of it and strictly stuck to their training and it shows each every single time that they go out.

You know it's really sad to see the state of America. A lot of people hate police because of the occasional 1 out of 100,000 incident that gets blown up, but the reality is that, compared to most military branches, cops are statistically more likely to fire their weapons in combat. A survey of 1% of cops shows that 27% of that 1% of cops had to fire their weapon in the line of duty, whereas fewer than 15% of our military ever see combat in their careers. No shade to the military, I just find it odd how American police officers, who actively put their lifes on the line for us very often [not specifically shootings] aren't seen as heroic anymore, whereas our military is seen as heroic. Again, respect to the military, I just think BOTH are equally heroic and should be appreciated as such. I get that the media always covers every questionable police shooting... only stopping when it turns out the suspect was trying to kill the police... but where is the media coverage of war crimes conducted by the U.S. overseas in the past 2 decades of war in the Middle East? I love and respect all of the police and military servicemen, I just find it odd how the numbers work out.
