Laphroaig Elements 1.0 & 10 Year Cask Strength Scotch

The 1.0 would be my pick here. I'm a fan of the darker flavours when it comes to peated whisky. Love that roasted pineapple note which occasionally pops up. Coincidentally, I'm actually roasting pineapple with curry right now to go with pork chops for dinner! Smells heavenly, and I'm imagining that note in a fine Scotch. Oh my Laphroaig. Those are big whiskies and always great to see/hear your perspective. I love the 10 CS, actually enjoying batch 13 the last couple of months it's been open. Also stashed away 14 & 15. That Elements 1.0 sounds very interesting to me. It looks like Elements 2.0 is out as well. I will keep an eye out for the Elements series and some day perhaps get my hands on one of those. I have always enjoyed Laphroaig, QC to 10 CS, 10 Sherry and one or two others in-between. Cheers!

Hi Jon hi John, thanks for the review I haven’t tried the cast strength but I have had the10 yearcardies and it was fantastic. Will pick up the cask strenght soon, but there was a sale at KWM and I spent my money lol.

Great head to head Jon and the winner of it is you 😃 I tried the Elements 1 and 2 side by side and the differences were apparent once you move from the peat hit. They are a new generation of Laphroaigs which will gather more people to the brand I think. Both were fantastic as is teh 10 CS. Cheers 🥃

I love the sound of that Elements 1.0... but it costs more than twice as much as the 10 Cask Strength (almost twice as much as the annual Càirdeas bottling) and it's difficult convincing myself that it's worth that much more.

and at 700ml you're getting cheated a pour from the Element, Cask 10 comes in 750ml

Great review Jon, but then again any laphroaig review I’m going to like! I’m glad it’s not very tropical because that was giving me major fomo 😅 the price just throws me though, icing sugar and vanilla is what I get from the 16 which you also get from the L1.0 which is interesting! cheers!

I know it's costly, but it's really, really good. Maybe find a friend who also wants to split a fine bottle! The icing sugar and vanilla came a bit later in the notes, but was delicious. Cheers!

Very cool comparison here Jon! And you've got me very jealous of that Laphroaig Elements release. Would have loved to get my hands on a bottle of that. The attention paid to this Elements 1.0 makes me want to try very hard to get the extended fermentation 2.0 if it comes to market here. Great video buddy. Cheers Neighbour 🥃
