Love vids like this! Always fun and educational doing a side by side. I haven't tried either of these sadly enough.... will keep an eye out. My experience with travel retails has been pretty......shit. lol

Thanks brother, I realise these expressions are not the easiest to get, but thought it would be fun to try side by side in case someone is tossing up between the two. Hope you are well my friend! Happy Easter 🐣

I concur with you choice of Laphroaig PX, Mate.

Loved them both when drinking them solo, but side by side the PX gets it for me. Thanks for checking it out brother!

Thanks for a great video! Exactly what I was looking for! I haven’t tried any of these two yet, but I’m curious to do so (having Lore and 10 YO Cask Strength as my “affordable favorites” otherwise).

Glad it was helpful Erik! I hope you enjoy them once you do get to try them!

As someone who loved Demazin cough medicine as a kid, the PX seems a natural progression for me, ha ha. Judging by your reaction I think I'd still find it tough to decide which I'd want to buy (Spoiler: I'd probably cave and just buy both).

I hear you mate! I did buy both 😂😂😂😂 ...and am not disappointed with either to be honest.

Two great drams. For me, the Port Wood comes out as winner.

I can definitely see the Port Wood taking the edge for some people too! Can't lose with either to be honest ☺️

Dried mushroom you say... I will be on the hunt for that smell! Brilliant video Wade, either of them will make me happy if offered at a friend's house. Cheers brother!

Yeah both will satisfy a Laphroaig lover for sure. Checked out your Glenlivet comparison too earlier today, I admit I have avoided Glenlivet as I have gotten deeper on my journey. I enjoyed the 18, but the 12 was so average and thin for me I have skipped over any expressions so great to see your comparison, although it appears to be very hard to find the licensed dram in Australia, and getting harder to find the illicit still too

@@McIntyresMalts Well Wade there are so many drams out there to try, I wouldn't waste resources on either of the Glenlivets. If you come across one at a reasonable price the yeah try it but they're not so amazing to hunt for.

Had the PX finish years ago and thought it lovely, the PX works really well with the peat. Have not tried the Portwood.

I love Ardbeg An Oa as well and that is another PX peat.
@McIntyresMalts Жыл бұрын
Yeah the PX and the peat are a match made in heaven 😇 If you like Laphroaig PX you will probably like the Port Wood too. Appreciate you checking out the Versus!

Uigeadail too for a great sherried Ardbeg! You can see my review of it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/boKslo2MmLWca80

Lagavulin’s Distillers Edition is another peat with PX.

I didn't understand when you gave it to the PX against the 10 Sherry Oak, but this is too much for me. Port Wood wins, no contest. It absolutely mops the floor with the PX.

Taste is subjective, what matters here is that we both enjoy Laphroaig 😉
