It’s interesting how people have convinced themselves that they only need to do the very minimum to get on board the “Heavenly Express”. Like Rabbi has mentioned before, the problem is psychological and not theological. They are willing to overlook all true Scriptural proof and hang their entire faith on “but Paul said.” And they clearly ignore the obvious contradictions. Regarding circumcision, HaShem clearly says in Ezekiel 44:9 “No foreigner, uncircumcised in both heart and flesh, is to enter my sanctuary ...” HaShem requires BOTH physical and spiritual circumcision in order to draw close and be in covenant with Him. Let us stop making excuses for our laziness. If we love HaShem, we will keep His commandments!

The Tanach and the Gospels
@jontanneguy49602 жыл бұрын
You can toss out Paul's letters and you still have all that you need. They are to weed out those who don't love God with all their being. Paul also said that those who eat only vegetables to be weak. We are commanded to not kill whatsoever and to not eat blood or fat. Virtually impossible to remove all blood and fat from flesh. In exodus it is written that those who lusted after the flesh and ate were stricken by the plague and died.
@LapidJudaism2 жыл бұрын
Well, they were stricken with a plague not because they desired meat but rather because of their insolence against HaShem. And, no where are we commanded “not to Kol whatsoever”. On the contrary we are told to “slaughter as I showed you”. Moreover, that would make a sacrifice at the Temple (a commandment), a sin because it requires killing.

I know it’s taught that justice wouldn’t allow a righteous man to atone for the sins of the wicked. Do you believe that there is any conjunction between the suffering of the righteous and the redemption of Israel, like the Hasidim believe? If so, would you mind explaining, please?

Was Paul just talking about coming to salvation? Did you know the law when you came to Yeshua? God saved His people then gave them His Torah. Or am I wrong? I'm still learning
@LapidJudaism2 жыл бұрын
HaShem redeemed His people and, as a result, gave them the Torah. So Torah is a gift and the expected life of the one who is “saved”. Does this answer your question?
@kevinclendenning36912 жыл бұрын
Did not the Berans test what Paul was saying using the the Scriptures? When you come to salvation, you don't just change over night and automatically know the whole Torah.
@LapidJudaism2 жыл бұрын
You keep referring to Paul?? I (we) are not really concerned with Paul’s teaching. His letters are not the Holy inerrant Word of the Living God. We focus on scripture. It is true that one does not know Torah over night. It is a life long practice and growing from glory to glory. Christianity (based on Paul) considers the Torah as “done away with”. The bible clearly says the opposite.
@Tara98124 Жыл бұрын
Rabbi. Might you be able to go over some things for me? Please excuse my ignorance but you keep saying circumcision is a commandment. Can you explain that? I wish you had started this with a cross reference to the source texts that you are refuting these things from. I may have a bit of a “death grip” 😵💫 but I’m willing to learn as long as there is Torah to back it up. Thank you so much for helping me open my eyes. However, my other question is once you start questioning the Bible…where do we stop? Honestly, your statements bring the entire “New Testament” into question. It has too! As you said, how can we pick and choose what is scripture. If the books Paul wrote are in error, how do we justify or attest to the rest of its validity?
@LapidJudaism Жыл бұрын
Shalom Tara, Yes circumcision is a commandment as we find (among other places) in Genesis 17. Here are a couple of other videos that provide more teaching on that topic. I will answer you question about the NT in the next comment. As for the validity of the Gospels (which is the ONLY scripture part of the NT and the other letters, that is a great question. And it, interestingly, reveals (subtly) the root problem in Christianity. Namely, a foundation or plumb line with which to measure truth. Judaism does not have that problem. We call it the Torah (the first five books of the Bible). Everything and ANYTHING has to align with that base line. Reference Dt. 13. Any teaching which, in anyway contradicts the Torah, it is naturally false. This is the very simple and clear way in which Jews have guarded truth for 4,000 years. The Torah is sacred. It is eternal. It is one with HaShem (John 1:1). Nothing can change or abolish it, ever. This so the main death nail to Paul. Hope that helps. Happy Thanksgiving

The definition of food is Leviticus 11. Pork is not good according to Torah. Maybe the Romans declared all the unclean meats food, going back to the Maccabees. Like the serpent telling Eve that it's okay to eat the fruit form the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But to understand they Yeshua made all good clean, people have to go back to Lev. 11 to get the definition of food. All good according to Lev. 11 is clean. I know that the statement was added though. Just a thought. I enjoy these teaching. They are re-enforcing my belief. Thank you I think many people misunderstand what was being said here cause a twisting of Scripture because they don't read the Torah.
