Lapping the Competition

Daniel Orcutt is a selfless competitor and teammate in a sport designed around an individual… swimming. He earns his spot as a Wendy’s National Finalist by dedicating himself - not only to his sport - but to the people on his swim team and in his community.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship celebrates scholar-athletes in high schools throughout the U.S. who give back to their community and never settle, dig deeper and reach higher. Over the course of 22 years, the program has honored more than 600,000 of the nation's most esteemed high school seniors and pointed the local, state, and even national spotlight on their achievements. This year, one hundred students will receive a total of $150,000 in scholarships, with ten National Finalists each receiving $5,000 and two National Winners receiving $10,000.
