While fooling around with my newly purchased Duesenberg Multibender (which I attached to my Gretsch Syncromatic Lapsteel), I came up with this little tune ...

How hard was the install? I've been Jonesing for the Gretsch steel, but also appreciating some amazing work on a Duesenberg Fairytale.....

Never saw an instrument with that multi-bender system. So it is now almost an pedal steel guitar, isn't it? fine playing

I had to listen to you, and watch of course three times. That was so beautiful. I want to buy that Lap Steel one day. I just bought the old 50's Gibson which sounds good, but there is no comparison to yours. I would like to also purchase the backing track if it's still available? I find myself reaching for the steel more than my guitar anymore?

beautifully done! The best i have heard yet!

I mounted a Multibender on a Recording King RG31 and have a couple issues. The B bender lever (2nd String E tuning) squeaks when I use it. I don't have that string through a ball end. It's just normal. The other thing is I can't seem to tighten the 3rd string lever and want to "lock it in place", pretty much like you're doing. Have you had these issues? Thanks
@markaochoa20175 жыл бұрын
Michael Parson-McNamara is there space on the recording king? Looks a little cramped to me. Been thinking about doing the same thing. Any info would help. Thanks

I ordered it online from Thomann Music Store here in Germany. Thanks for looking by :-)

Thank you, Sir :-) The tuning is a simple Open-D.

Hello Thanks a lot for your videos. Because of that I just buy a multi bender for my Gretsch Syncromatic Lap steel. And thanks again works very well. If you don’t mind I have some questions. 1- Do you use a wound, or plain string for the third one (F#)? 2- Can you tell me what gauge of strings work better for you in these tuning? 3- Do you prefer to have the two benders working in the same initial distance or to stop in the same final position. Thanks a lot for your great videos and playing.

And how much to build another just like that one???? Ron I have a 2 pedal 2 knee lever Hudson 6 string E9 tuning that I might trade for one like you are playing,

Cool. I can see this being played in some backwater Texas dive with chicken wire around the stage and sleazy women looking for a dance. Cheers. I'm driving down to Texas.

Was not aware of the multibenders, but this would help me out a lot (had polio and legs don’t move too fast). Do you know if they might fit an old Fender Champ or Champion I think’ and where to go to get them. Thanks much.
@lapsteelpfunk5 жыл бұрын
I think they will fit on nearly every guitar (sometimes with a few changes) You can get it here; store.duesenberg.de/hardware/multibender/

It was not hard at all ... Just remove the original bridge and screw on the multibender. I think, even the holes were in the right places.

If you have string breakage problems ,put 2 extra ball ends over the string to keep the wrap part away from the pressure point works well.

Though this being 7 years ago in the making, How much was the total setup cost for the Gretsch and Duesenburg Multi-bender? Trying to be budget minded without the Big Budget Cost of a Duesenburg Lap Steel... Thanks in advance!
@nabkim-kultur12434 жыл бұрын
Hello James, the Gretsch was about 350 Euro and the Multibender another 250, as far as I remember ...
@WillieG10163 жыл бұрын
Now this would cost you 400 usd for the gretsch and duesenberg multibender is close to 300 usd after shipping and taxes. If you set it up yourself, it’s around 700-800, if you pay someone to do it closer to 800-900. But you still are paying less than half of a duesenberg
