I'ts got to be one of the best songs to play with the Lap steel guitar. Tammy Wynot was an amazing singer I am sure she would have sung right along with you as you played it so wonderfully. Thank you for the memories. ....

Patrick White.... just so you know, Tammy's name was spelled "Wynette".... not "Wynot". Tammy's last name was Pugh.... Wynette was actually her Middle name. Tammy was married to George Jones from 1969 to 1975.... surprised it lasted even that long, with him... although they did cut a few more albums together after their divorce, in the later 70s and 80s.

Just purchased my first G5700 yesterday from Butler Music in Harrisonville, MO for $315.00. Though it's being shipped to Texas, I can't wait to get started learning the Lap Steel! I was looking at the Multi-bender and I see it sells from Musikhaus Thomann in Germany for $225.00 USD. Trust me, I rather purchase the Duesenburg Fairytale Multi-bender, but I don't $2,499.00 laying around right now. lol I'll probably purchase the Multi-bender next month.

There's also a version for square neck resonator. It is accurate, but hard to get double stop bends as the height of the levers differs to accommodate whole and half step bends. I put a whle load of gaffer tape round one of mine to make them the same height. Not pretty. Works.

Nice job... so my question.... did you have any difficulty installing the multibender? was it as easy as just taking off the old bridge and drilling a few holes ?
@eroc4686 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I did mine recently and you just have to make sure to measure out the distance of the old bridge from saddle to nut and make sure the new bridge is the same distance away. I checked the distance at about 10 mm from pickup hole edge to the bridge saddle. I also added masking tape around the edge of the old bridge as a guide.

Did the string spacing change when you put the Multibender on.? The original Duesenberg lap has a little wider spacing than the Gretsch. That would be good for me if it did. Please let me know. Thanks.
@lapsteelpfunk6 жыл бұрын
Actually I changed the nut as well, to receive a wider string spacing. The original was way too narrow. Also, the multibender has a slightly wider string spacing than the original bridge
