I work around Bethnal Green and the area is atrocious. I'm not surprised it was someone from round there that nicked your laptop! I got mugged round there on my way to the station after work and I don't think there is a person round there who hasn't been affected by crime ha! But oh well, things could always be worse, hope you find it!

Well the MET police (which is the London police) are usually pretty good, and active. My case was dealt with swiftly and effectively but unfortunately that's not always the case! I guess sometimes they have to put certain cases on the back foot, and considering the area, a stolen laptop is likely to be a minor crime in comparison to all the other events that probably happened the same night. I don't know though and either way it's still no excuse

Last december I lost my iphone in Barcelona (it was 1month old and It probably got stolen bc it was at the tube) and then 3 weeks later I got a notification from "find my iphone" and it was in Morocco. But its funny bc the app told me the exact location, street and also the number. Hope you find it Louis.

I called the police to block the phone using the id number or something like that, bc I thought maybe if they can't use it they'll return it, but apparently it only works if you're in Europe. So the phone is totally unlock there.

The police need to be up to date on modern tech. All phones, tablets, laptops now have remote tracking features. Why did they not immediately ask Louis for his remote tracking info and locate his stuff. I don't think those guys will help louis, they'll probably screw him over so be careful Louis.

José María Solá theres a reason why they're called 3rd world countries, they're not as safe. just because something worse is happening, does not make already the bad situation any better. the fact that they are taking the bag as a serious issue is great, there is a level of safety in the country that allows the police time and money to help with things such as stolen goods rather than more serious issues.

Just a little tip. Since UK and Spain are both in EU you can cross the borders using your ID (if you have one). If not try going to the Passport office with Police report that your passport was stolen and explain that you have travel plans and need your passport as soon as possible. My friend had similar situation and I pretty sure she paid extra 20 quid and she got it the same day. Hope you actually retrieved your bag with all the goodies by now. Cheers Louis !
