I'm glad to see someone apreciate the remakes. Many complain they were too easy and too diferent from the originals. For the time and develpment schedule they had, those games were good and an enjoyable experience. I'm also trying these games now, just finished the Anniversary and I agree with most points. I don't like the quicktime events only because I lose control and they become too fancy, I don't feel so "alone" and "small" anymore, but even those were well made. At the time, QTE were a must. They removed some parts and added others from the originals, which make some fans accuse the games of being unfaithfull. Personally, I prefer when a game remove "surplus" to make sure the things that are kept are well done. The corridors were a nice "stiching" challenge, maybe needed more distinguishing character between chapters. To be done faithfully to the originals, it would be necessary to have the tank controls or the modern movement and jumping would deem the game too easy. Of course, I would like "more" game, but I rather have a smaller good game that an empty long drag of a shell. On the claim that these games are too easy, I can only point out that many of us played these games when we didn't have the gaming experience we now have. The pokemon franchise suffers from the same "it's too easy" complaint. The only thing I wished is that it wasn't so focused on wallclimbing... Since these games didn't sell too well, the franchise changed drastically. The video itself was well done, you deserve some growth. I'm now trying TR1 again and compare, if you want a video sugestion, you can do that too. Keep it up!

I and almost all people i knew had SNES and we were playing Megaman X when i first saw Tomb Raider 3 in a friend's house; it blew my mind, but i just couldnt get around 3d maneuvering at the time. Soon another friend got a playstation to and the demo of MGS was too much for me. eventually my brother got a Playstation too, and i got Tomb Raider 3; i didnt finished at the time, and when we got a PS2 most PS1 games were forgoten. Was only before i moved that i finished TR3 as fast as i could just before graduating. Some years later i got a PSP and played the heck out of Tomb Raider Anniversary, i do believe it still my favorite. When i got married some years latter, convinced my wife to get a PS3 and bought crystal dinamics trilogy, finished it all in 2015 and it was great; that year i finished Metal Gear 4 (that i was waiting for a long time) and Assassins Creed Black Flag, and of course, that Tomb Raider Trilogy, those 3 games were magical and i couldnt drop those before i got all secrets. Im playing Tomb Raider 2 currently, its good, but i have to stop for some time to do it, it feels like a job, im not enjoying it as much as cristal dynamics trilogy

I grew up on the OG Tomb Raider on the Play Station. Years later after finding out that there was an anniversary for the original, followed by Legend and Underworld I was ecstatic. Then of course the three newer trilogy games are fantastic as well 😎

So refreshing to hear this take on LAU. Even if Legend was brief and Anniversary had rewritten elements, they were gorgeous and well paced, with underworld being the best raider experience while reducing combat

I love the Tomb Raider Legend Trilogy. After Tomb Raider 2 in 1997, the series felt very repetitive and lacked any proper innovation. I'm not saying that I hated the original series. Far from it, I loved them, except for Chronicles, we don't talk about Chronicles. But Legend did what Angel of Darkness meant to do, it reinvented the series, but it still felt like classic Tomb Raider gaming in the sense of exploring tombs, temples and structures, fighting enemies and discovering artifacts. Each game in the trilogy just got better, and Keeley Hawes playing Lara was perfect casting

I liked chronicles I think, is that the one where you play as her as a kid for a level? The dark angel one I didn't love, and underworld got me good with that motorcycle timed challenge

Tomb Raider 2 was always my favourite, that theme tune such nostalgia, so I cannot wait to play the remaster on PS5. 1) Tomb Raider 2 2) Tomb Raider 1 3) Anniversary 4) Legend 5) Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The environments for Underworld were good and I have visited Thailand myself, but it wasn't my favourite, Tomb Raider 3 was great but very hard without a guide. Doesn't need any Co-Op or Multiplayer garbage, Lara is a one woman show.

I'm a huge TR fan since 1997. The classics will always have a special place in my heart, but they absolutely nailed it with Legend. They managed to update everything in the right way and took full advantage of the newest technology that the previous games couldn't. I love what they did with Lara's personality as well. A lot of people complain that she's not as sarcastic and sassy like she used to be, especially in Angel of darkness, but a lot of people forget that she is a Lady by title and was raised as such. I always loved the ambiguity of the character of being raised as a prim and proper blue blood, but was this crazy adrenaline junky that went on these wild adventures and I felt like the older games never got a chance to properly depict that posh side of her. Keeley Hawes did a fantastic job of portraying that side of her with her beautiful clipped pronunciations

I just recently completed LAU series and Survivor series and while I enjoyed the action of Survivor, I agree with you the LAU story. I felt the gameplay of LAU was closer to the original Tomb Raider series. Shadow was probably the closest with its exploration.

@RotStantz: As well as the people whom played them originally like myself [ I played TR1 on PC back in 1996 ] that have been waiting all these years, I would have liked an Anniversary style Tomb Raider 2 but, I am looking forward to getting 3 Platinums for the trilogy [ although TR3 was the hardest to complete without a written guide, and strongly recommend one for it ] and they are also including the Gold expansions which I never played, that will be new to me.

i like how this whole franchise is now just three unrelated completely different Genres now: Original Trilogy: Puzzle Adventure Legends Trilogy: Action Adventure Reboot Trilogy: Third Person Shooter action. Like jesus chirst, TR even have another game that is a top down shooter and some weird 2d side scrolling game. What's next? Tomb Raider RTS trilogy?

I still find it funny how the Legend trilogy are the most divisive games in the history of gaming. Just going on youtube and looking over reviews, something like opinions on Tomb Raider anniversary can go from being one of the better remakes we've seen to be the absolute worst remake and ruining the series lmao.

It is. Reboot is the latest, and legend/lau came before (but it did also reboot the cannon) 😊

I played the PS2 version of underworld for an hour, and it was terrible. I'll try it on 360. PS2 versions of legend and anniversary were great

I loved angel of darkness, for being a true fan of the originals, AOD was so beautiful & lara looked phenomenal. the new ones suck.

The originals are far superior. No hand holding like in the newer ones. No poorly written hokey story being forced to the forefront. It felt isolated. Amazing . Looking forward to the remasters next year.

The classic tr games will always be special to me because I grew up with them. I'm not a huge fan of the Legend trilogy. Legend was far too short and easy and I didn't like the constant chatter with her two buddies. I loved Anniversary and replayed that alot. But Underworld was so disappointing. The second worst tomb raider, in my opinion, right behind Angel of Darkness. The best thing about legend and anniversary was lara's mansion.

Your complaints are about the tech and software of that time. But they are still amazing productions regardless of those limitations and probably the reason so many games have continued to develop similar levels of story and production.
