She has a natural confidence and can back it up, is smart and resourceful but has limitations (not a Mary Sue). Unapologetically sexy but not slutty. Doesn't feel the need to denigrate all the men she encounters, merely because they have a penis. A character that women can look up to, and men can admire.

Yes, it's cheesy AF, and yes it came out in the era where all the baddies had Anti Aimbot installed, but nonetheless, Angelina's portrayal and the overall directing in the movie are very close to the original games. Especially in the practice scene with Simon the robot, the way she backflips and draws her guns mid flip, that is exactly how Lara moves in the early games. This movie kept the feeling and essence of the early games very well. So huge creds for that to the creators. Also remember, this is approximately the same era as the dumpster fire that was the Doom movie came out, so you can't really knock on this one too much, considering 😂
