Johnny gives Lara a huge gift by inviting her to his show at the Stade de France in 1998 for 3 nights!!! He loved Lara and he wanted her to demonstrate her vocal power and shine in front of 80,0000 people. Johnny in all his generosity.... On this third and last performance the sound of Lara's microphone is in her favor, it was at maximum (it resonated..) and Johnny's was lower.. It was Johnny who asked that it be done like that. Lara herself confirmed it. Know that Johnny was a vocal power too, but in this last performance he did not want because it was done on purpose, Johnny was very intelligent in doing that to make the song more dramatic and show their acting on this magnificent song that belongs to him. The desired goal was the dramatic side of the singing all in power but less than Lara (Johnny) with both next to him a more striking singing power (Lara) and the passionate play between the two. Everything was imagined by Johnny himself to end this last interpretation in beauty. And on top of that, this miraculous rain to make it a masterpiece, perhaps the most beautiful duet in the world.🎉💥💫

Absolutely love"that was some seriously sick Romeo and Juliet". The moments after you paused the video are also worth watching for their interaction. Johnny said of Lara during an interview that she is the female version of him and when you listen to the power and emotions of their combined voices its easy to see. Loved your reaction , thank you!

The story goes that Halliday’s wife forbade him from ever singing with Lara again. Too Smokey for her. Not hard to see why.

Johnny Halliday was kinda the Elvis of France and at the time Lara Fabian was an up and coming star he wanted to feature. This concert in the rain was before an audience of 85,000 people and the song was of one of Johnny’s own hits from 20 years before on a play of a famous French movie in which the protagonist is trapped by the police and kills his lover as the song implies. Halliday was said to have cut back on the volume of his microphone in order to bring out that of Lara.

A legend... Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in Paris at the age of 74. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. In 57 years of career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 songs were turned into music videos or scopitones. 758 authors and composers collaborated with Johnny. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten pieces for other artists. He also wrote and co-wrote a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that he was heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the "patronage" of Line Renaud, he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victories or Special Victories or Music Honor Victory. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 110 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No. 1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny went on more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career, having given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost complete works have been recorded in audio and video. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 10,000 members in total). Johnny is also an actor with no less than 43 films (including appearances) to his credit throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin" award in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films they offered him were not good films, unfortunately.. He dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life had other plans, and fortunately so!! Johnny was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was close to his heart, in 2002 he performed a magnificent song against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road. He couldn't resist and adopted her; the little dog is named "Cheyenne." He also sang a song that evokes the brutal repression by Chinese authorities of the Tiananmen Square protests in June 1989; the song is titled "Tienanmen" from 1991. He was a man with a big heart. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a knight of the Arts and Letters since 1995. He has sung in several languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese and German). By listening to his songs, you will realize that this great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone: rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock, soft rock, pop rock, rockabilly, country, a rock opera album (Hamlet) from 1976 (This album was ahead of its time). A unique voice... His voice has continued to evolve over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world!! He brought together the rich, the less wealthy, and the poor. He brought together several generations. He gave exceptional concerts, with wild entrances like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, entering from the back of the stadium and parading through the crowd for three consecutive nights. (no one had done that before him). and he did it again in 2013 at Bercy, in 1998 he arrived by helicopter above the Stade de France, in 1984 at the Zenith he emerged from a giant hand (they had to break a wall to get the hand above the stage), in 2012 at the Stade de France he arrived in a giant flying ball resembling a mine, which landed on stage, and so on. Here are some songs: "Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe, Si tu pars(2005), Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre, Ça ne change pas un homme, True to you, Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Moulin à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence, Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Made in rock'n'roll, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, J'ai pleuré sur ma guitare, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Essayez, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom(duet with Carmel), Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, J'ai épousé une ombre, Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Parties de cartes, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Te manquer, Noir c'est noir, Love affair(duet with Kathy Mattea), Une lettre à l'enfant que j'étais, etcccc And many others.... 💯💣🗯💫🦾💪💥

It's a song by Johnny Hallyday from the magnificent album "Derrière l'amour" from 1976. When Johnny sings this song alone in concert he puts on more intensity. Here on this duet less because he would have asked that we lower his microphone to make Lara shine. Johnny in all his generosity...

In France, he's a legend, especilaay for the stenghth of his voice, every french singer was frightened to sing along with him, but in this case Lara killed the game, and you can see he gave up the fight. It was the only time I saw him a step under the other in a duet.

Johnny Hallyday (15 June 1943 - 5 December 2017), was a French rock and roll and pop singer and actor, credited for having brought rock and roll to France. During a career spanning 57 years, he released 79 albums and sold more than 110 million records worldwide, mainly in the French-speaking world, making him one of the best-selling artists in the world. He had five diamond albums, 40 golden albums, 22 platinum albums and earned ten Victoires de la Musique. He sang an estimated 1,154 songs and performed 540 duets with 187 artists. Credited for his strong voice and his spectacular shows, he sometimes arrived by entering a stadium through the crowd and once by jumping from a helicopter above the Stade de France, where he performed 9 times. Among his 3,257 shows completed in 187 tours, the most memorable were at Parc des Princes in 1993, at the Stade de France in 1998, just after France's win in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, as well as at the Eiffel Tower in 2000, which had record-breaking ticket sales for a French artist. A million spectators gathered to see his performance at the Eiffel Tower, with some 10 million watching on television. Usually working with the best French artists and musicians of his time, he collaborated with Charles Aznavour, Michel Berger and Jean-Jacques Goldman, while his shows were produced by Jean-Claude Camus, considered to be one of the greatest producers in France. Hugely popular in France, he was referred to as simply "Johnny" and seen as a "national monument" (like Édith Piaf or Charles Aznavour) and a part of the French cultural legacy. He was a symbol of the Trente Glorieuses when he emerged in 1960 and a familiar figure to four generations. More than 2,500 magazine covers and 190 books were dedicated to him during his lifetime, making him one of the persons most widely covered by the media in France. His death from cancer in 2017 was followed by a "popular tribute" during which a million people attended the procession and 15 million others watched the ceremony on TV. He remained relatively unknown in the English-speaking world, where he was dubbed "the biggest rock star you've never heard of" and introduced as the French version of Elvis Presley.

Johnny Hallyday was the biggest rock star in France. Since the 60's if you asked anyone in france who is the biggest singer, everyone will answer: "Johnny!!!", even the ones who didn't like his music. With the biggest shows, a sort of "French Bruce Springsteen" concerning kind of music. When he died in 2017, his funeral were on Tv as if he was the president, it was the main subject everywhere (to compare, it was about the same thing than in US when Micheal Jackson died). He's a French star...but he was born in Belgium...just like Lara, but most of people says they are French.

His best duets are with Lara Fabian, who I think doesn't get enough credit for her voice, and Sylvia Vartan who used to be his 1st wife.

Lara's version (show first): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqa2dZegipmGbq8 Dimash's version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip7IYoGrl9RkY6s I love those two equally. I must say I still prefer Lara's English though Dimash is improving by leaps and bounds. By the time he finishes, he will be considered the greatest.

It's so interesting coming from a different country, to see how many artists are so known WORLDWIDE such as Lara Fabian, and in the US, barely anyone heard of them. The one huge example is ABBA, where they blew up as big as the Beatles worldwide, but apart from a couple of songs, most Americans are not aware of them. A Brazilian group, not as huge, but they were big in the Disco era, Boney M, never caught on in the US despite them conquering the whole world. I think as a reactor you're better off reacting to people your audience already loves as you build subscribers. Your best bet is to continue reacting to Dimash who has the most loyal and numerous fans in the world. It does help that he sings so many of Lara Fabian's covers.

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Lara Fabian has been an international superstar for several decades now. Not so much in the US. She's seeing a resurgence of popularity as many people are getting to know her...through their discovery of Dimash, who is absolutely blowing up online! You are about to do the opposite, discovering Dimash through Lara. I don't know how much you know of Dimash, but he's widely considered the best vocalist of our generation (NOT the best singer, as that is a matter of taste). On just one measure, range, the amazing Floor Jansen sings stunningly over a range of over 3 octaves (D3 to F6). Dimash covers 6 octabes and 5 semitones (A1-D8). The D8 is outside a standard piano's range. But it's what he DOES with that range that's amazing. As if that's not disgusting enough at the age of 26, he just so happens to be one of the most humble superstars one could meet. The result, is a super loyal fanbase (he calls us "Dears") that's exploding the subscription base of so many KZbin reactors. For that to happen to you, the first song you react will be very important so you realize from the beginning the caliber of artist you're dealing with. As such, I recommend your first song you react to be the French song "SOS". It is one of many of his masterpieces, but it also showcases several of his jaw dropping special talents: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWOcq3irj7uUrtU

With this performance, no one can doubt the vocal power and emotion of Lara Fabian. To see another vocal performance by Lara Fabian you must listen to PERDERE L'AMORE kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3fFqnqFg718bac It is one of his performances which influenced Dimash in his manner of being on stage. @ CUTnPASTEreacts Hello, A so cinematic song ...we follow all the scene like we saw a movie! We obviously can't help but think of Bonnie & Clyde. I love this song from my childhood. :) (I'm 53, French born in Paris, but I live in South France now)

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Yes exactly. Or also "The chase (1966)" movie of Arthur Penn with Marlon Brando, Robert Redford, Jane Fonda (synopsis : In Texas, the return of a prison escapee to his hometown unleashes the passions of the local bourgeoisie who's arming itself against the gangster. The sheriff promises to find the fugitive before the raging mob grabs him). For those who never seen ...You need to watch it! :) But in fact this song is inspired by another very famous movie. Gilles Thibaut (the author) a film enthusiast was at the time a fan of Scarface (the version of Howard Hawks not that of Brian De Palma. In 1976, the version with Al Pacino hadn't yet seen the light of day) , and, from this vision of romantic destiny and inevitable end of this egocentric gangster who persists until his last breath make his life a great living spectacle, and therefore fatally, die as we've lived. It's therefore necessary close this one with a fireworks display, a bloody apotheosis. He then made his hero an assassin for love who, after barricading himself in an isolated house, presents himself at dawn before his executioners. The original song isn't a duet and is performed by Johnny alone ... Friendly yours,

Its a tragedy lot peaple don't get the lirycs at first its a one man song not a duo.The theme revolves around the crime of a "madly in love, desperate suicidal man" who, abandoned by the woman he loves, is consumed by rage and anguish. In his madness, he kills her to avoid losing her. Condemned to death for this femicide, he ultimately lets himself die as well, embodying the notion that "for a great love to live forever, it must die of love." in 2024 Jhonny was better sing this with a woman to his side.

welcome in the French singers world ;) ! This version isn't the best, great version ... but not the best in my opinion. just for you, listen at this version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWGcoWydiaiZnqc. Lara did the job but softer and so better and with more emotions. It was the first time she sing with Johnny (on of the biggest star in France).
