So happy you're doing more Lara, great analysis! She calls herself a "songwriter with a voice", so you were on the mark with that. This song is based on the classical piece Adagio in G minor, published in 1958 by Remo Giazotto, based on a scrap of music by Tomaso Albinoni . It's a love song to songwriting, begging the powers of inspiration to not abandon her. It's even more powerful when you listen with that in mind, you hear her very soul. There's just no one else who does to me what Lara does, even in languages I don't understand. You have to do Je Suis Malade (same concert) next, it's the greatest performance of any song I've ever seen!

Btw, she created lyrics for this in English, because the tenor José Carreras, who was very, very popular in Europe at the time, was the first singer to sing this piece in a crossover album of 1996. The lyrics were in Italian then and it is also a terrific version. That gave proof it could be sung in the first place. I’m so glad that Lara wrote those lyrics and rendered it with so much passion! Indeed Jose’s album which contained the song is itself entitled Passion! 😁

Great reaction. I just discovered her about 6 months ago. I'm not usually one to fangirl, but her performance of Je Suis Malade from the same concert was literally jaw-dropping for me. And down the rabbit hole I went. She has INCREDIBLE technique. Every single one of the hundred choices she makes in every phrase is stellar. But the thing that impresses me the most is that she gives everything in service of the song - not just to "show off" her instrument. Add the fact that she writes/co-writes most of her songs, sings competently in a dozen languages, speaks four fluently . . .well! I hope you'll consider doing more reaction vids to her performances. I enjoyed it and learned a lot from your comments.

Well described! Yes she puts all the elements together and I think It's because she really wants to communicate with her audience, it's not like look at me how good I am, which is a self fixated attitude that too many singers have. Lara more invite you and share what she wants to say. Nothing you can really be teached. You need to have the guts and ability to reach out to people and don't care about what they think about how you look when you sing and so on. Lara is never afraid to use her face to express emotions, even if it might distort some of her beauty. That is something some singers are afraid of. Enough said. Great reaction and I agree 100 percent. Have a great day!

Is it any wonder that Lara has had such a dramatic impact on Dimash Kudaibergen who has obviously taken on her 'in the moment style', never once braking the emotional magnetic journey. This is story telling through music that never once lets up until her last breath utters that final note leaving her audience completely and utterly spent. This is Lara's trademark. Recognize beloveds, that the magnetics of the Emotional body, and the feeling 'sense-sations' it generates in it's listeners, IS the language of the soul. Emotions, when Divine Will is allowed to come through unimpeded by Lara, never once breaking during Lara's sublime story-telling fashion, magnetically ensnares, and pulls it's listeners, completely enthralled, along a magical journey that elicits such sublime moments, as to induce what I call climatic, emotional orgasms. The physical body, in these perfect moments, is simply incapable of holding such high intensity's of Love that this vibrational energy simply results in an uncontrollable overflow of an involuntary release of tears. Such are the moments of incredible tenderness. This is 'Love', the cosmic magnetic glue that holds all Creation together. This 'Love', as generated by the Heart, is what makes people's hair stand on end when they recognize that they are in the presence of a divinely inspired Master. And this, to me, is the ultimate aim and purpose of all Great musical performances. These 'Gold Light Spirits', champions of Divine Will Herself, have always known that music can heal 'EVERYTHING'! Lara's music; her signing, does just that and more!

Excellent analysis - as always! This is really one of my favorite renditions of this classical crossover piece. There is something about Lara Fabian’s voice and singing that is appealing to men and women alike. I like very few female singers in any genre - Lara is unusual. For all the reasons you mention. She is an interesting performer and has an excellent range. She has tones of Barbra Streisand (who I used to like a lot, but cannot stand to hear anymore for the past 25 years) but is way better, in her manner of vocal projection. You are absolutely right about the brassiness - she has depth. Lara does not screech! She has a very attractive timbre that lures you in to listen to her. Unfortunately there is an element of screechiness in Celine Dion’s singing that render her an anathema to my ears. I mention those two because In Lara Fabian I find all the corrections the other two need to make, with the magnificent ability to improvise and play with her voice and her range and to use her really solid technique to tell her story admirably and often, stunningly! When you have time perhaps you should watch her live performance tribute to young Gregory LeMarchal, who was a young French singer with a wonderful voice, who like Dimash, was a fan of Lara’s and got to sing with her in the singing competition he was competing in and eventually won. That tribute, featuring Lara singing Je’ Taime, one of her songs was very moving. Gregory had sung that song for his audition and really did a good job with it. Greg died at 22 from cystic fibrosis, while waiting for a lung transplant. Here’s Greg’s audition, singing Lara Fabian’s Je’ Taime: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqHHhKFsh9qro80
