Lara Fabian is the most complete vocalist and performer I have ever heard in my life. Her technique, her connection with the song, translating to be an exceptional communicator is one of a kind, and last but not least her beauty, even as of today she still is unique. And many might argue about other divas, yes, amazing vocals, but the emotional connection with any song she performs is a total display of glory... as I said once and repeat, LARA FABIAN IS A MASTERPIECE!!!

I saw Lara on a chat program. She has a kind of reverence for each song. Each performance feels new. Elvis is the only other singer I can think of who pulls us in with an almost silent “cry." We feel an urgency to attend to that warm sound. (Albeit, Elvis had lousy material, but his live performances,…!) You just can’t look away. They both take us, magically transform us indelibly. I did listen to this song when my partner and I ended our relationship. I cried and cried each time I listened to it. I still cry when listen to this song. The emotional connection and her gift to draw people in and allow us to feel her vulnerability makes us feel our own vulnerability through her words. I absolutely love Lara Fabian! Truly the best of the best!

I have the response to your question! The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian, inspired by a classic piece of Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto N°2 in C Minor). Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US), - Morissette Amon, - Cakra Khan, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho, - … Regarding Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.

With the amount of your intense attention and arrays of your facial expressions, I can say you are under Lara's splell. And It's a very good thing ! Her motto as a performer is '' Honesty '', in the delivered message. There is never anything faked. This song is particularely difficult to performe because of the subtulities in dynamics and tempos and I would like to point out, how much the conductor and orchestra were in sync with Lara's flow and energy throughout the song ( with her and the conductor back to back, 20 feet apart ).
