Totally agree with you. Been addicted to this women's voice for about 5yrs now, when I first saw her Je Suis Malade video. Have always cherished the opportunity since that. Nothing against Celine, but truthfully; I do believe Lara was intentionally bypassed by the corporate labels here in America in favor of Dion. Why that is is only left for what is sure to be labeled as conspiratorial. But the music industry is wrought with this kind of behavior. I am glad tho that Lara was able to have found success overseas. Her presence, voice and beauty will forever live in my heart and mind. A true gift of our Lord.

Matt, the most underrated vocalist in the history of music!!!!!!!! This appearance of Lara is from 1999. Is it any wonder why Dimash was influenced so much by Lara? Apparently she made career choices which were not conducive to maximize her popularity but she seems to be okay with the way things have worked out for her in her life. Good for her. Recently she was appearing as a judge on France's version of The Voice. She still makes appearances and has also written several songs including Adagio (which you may have heard already). Caruso was very special to me, as well.

With her mother being Italian, that makes her Italian. Within the Latin cultures of Europe the matriarch is dominant. Most don't even take the fathers last name. Fabian was her grandmothers maiden last name. And her grandmothers before her etc. Back for many generations. I know this as my wife is from Portugal. She did not receive her fathers name until she and her family immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1960's. Maria Isabel Lieges Manendez Bernardo Smith ! That's a mouth full to say. Bernardo was added by U.S. Immigration. As much as The people of Belgium and Montreal Canada want to make her French, She is not. Although she speaks it perfectly, as she does Italian, English, German, Spanish, Russian and a few others I can't recall at the moment.
@daviddieudonne78292 жыл бұрын
@@fposmith her mother being Italian doesn’t make her Italian… it just means she has a Italian heritage and a love for the country of her ancestors. She’s born and raised in Belgian and calls it home, especially Brussels. Although also from Canadian roots and lives there… She’s a Belgian Canadian that lives in Canada, just that simple. Btw, her own website is in French and English, no Italian except in her songs. So…not sure she would call herself Italian. Why would you give her a nationality without even knowing her, very strange…
@ericsicard9102 жыл бұрын
@@daviddieudonne7829 she clearly said in an interview that she spent the first 7 years in Sicilia with her mother and grandma before returning to Belgium and that she learned Italian before french.
@daviddieudonne78292 жыл бұрын
@@ericsicard910 well, she s born in etterbeek, which is a part of Brussels, which is the capitol of Belgium, so a Belgian. Which is why you also wrote “returning”, and she wasn’t 7 when she moved back to Belgium but 5… anyway, I don’t know what you remember from when you were younger than 5, but her childhood was in Belgium, which is why she feels Belgian. I’m not saying it, she does. I was just saying to that other comment that having an Italian mother doesn’t make you Italian. She s born here and went to school here from the age of 5. Btw, today, even after living in Canada since the early 90’s she still has the Belgian nationality, along with the Canadian, but she doesn’t have the Italian nationality, which is HER choice… so saying she isn’t Belgian is dumb, as she literally is.

Lara Fabian is a Belgian Sicilian. Her father is Belgian and her mother is Sicilian. Her parents knowing she was talented gave her all the money they could so she would be able to continue her voice training in Canada. She has now the Canadian citizenship. She speaks French, Sicilian, English and I am not quite sure about the Spanish. She said before singing Caruso that it was very important to her as its a legacy from her grandmother and mother, so she was very emotional about it. I personally love Caruso because my mother loved Pavarotti and Italy so much. Listening to this piece makes me cry since my mother is no longer with us. Pardon my English as I am french speaking I hope that I didn't make to many mistakes. Hello from Belgium.

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.

"Caruso” is an opera song, was written in 1986 by Italian musician Lucio Dalla, who also sung it. Lucio Dalla dedicated it to Enrico Caruso, one of the greatest and most sought-after Italian Opera singers during the late 19th and early 20th century. Many singers cover this song, Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli are the most famous among them. I can't call my self as opera fan but Caruso from Lara Fabian.. i can listen all day. Lara Fabian has born from Belgian father and Sicilian mother. She speaks flawless English, French, Italian and Spanish and can sing in more than ten languages. In my opinion Lara Fabian is one of the best female voices of all time. Thank you :)

Ciao Matt,I saw that in the messages it is not explained correctly how this song was born.I tell You the story: Lucio Dalla before going to America for On his tour, he went to Naples and went out to sea with the boat near Sorrento his engine broke and stay in Sorrento.. He took a hotel and the owners of this hotel gave him a room telling him that it was the room where Enrico Caruso had spent the last days of his life.Lucio Dalla met Angelo who was the owner of a bar in Sorrento who told him that his aunt had been Caruso's waitress and then told him the story, that Caruso He had a much younger pupil than him who over time fell in love with her. This song is dedicated to that young woman.If you listen carefully to the words of the song you can understand that he was very much in love with that very young and beautiful PUPIL of his.In fact, already at the beginning of the passage he makes it clear from min.1: 09 to Min 1:58 he says: When a man hugs a girl after she had cried, he clears his throat and starts singing again, I love you very much But very, very well you know It is a chain now, which melts the blood inside the veins, you know.👍🏻

Italian is the most beautiful latin language when it's about singing emotions. And it's a Frenchman who says that. French is a stronger language in appearance, because of its ties with the Frankish (germanic tribe which mixed with latin roman-gauls after the fell of Roman Empire) BUT Italian is a far more melodious and pretty language when it's about to sing. Whatever, all latin languages are far far better than the english and saxon languages to share emotions. Many speaks about romance languages, I would even say "feeling languages"... Latin languages are hard to understand for non latin cause the intonation, the place of words and also the body attitudes can change totally the meaning far more than other languages. English is a far better language to communicate as it is a technical and simpler language. If you read french, italian or spanish books, Latins do long sentences, Anglo-speaking do more sentences but shorter and each words have almost all a single meaning. a French word can have 6 or even 7 meanings and it's rare to have a word with a single meaning. Then English is preferred in international relations and communications. BUT when you hear and see a latin singer, with an emotional song, you feel it, even without knowing az word in his own language. In a world which tends to erase differences and emotions, it's great to keep the latin languages alive.
