It is not just Barbara Streisand's cover. Lara Fabian definitely pays an homage to Barbara Streisand. She does it amazingly well.

Her cover of Barbra's Yentel Medley in 1997 at the Molton Center is killer. Lara remains one of the greatest voices of the last thirty years...

This is absolutely a beautiful cover, of the Barbara Streisand classic. Lara's tone is lovely to listen to, with the wonderful orchestral backing led by John Williams highlighting her performance. She actually reminds me of Barbara a lot. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Eric.👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

The conductor who is introducing her is … John Williams. Yes the famous composer of Stevem Spielberg’s movies and Star wars. She was here initially to perform “For Always”, in duet with Josh Groban. A song from John that he made for the movie "A.I.". kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGXHpaejo5ijprc Lara is the singer he selected for the movie soundtrack. I was told Barbra herself was supposed to sing Evergreen at this event. And she could not come at the last minute. So Lara replaced her: she is a big fan and knows Barbra’s catalog by heart. I cannot wait to see you react to Yentl , another of Barbra’s masterpieces. 😂

Her performance of her cover of ""a peace of sky/papa can you hear me"" from Barbara Streisand in her concert ""PURE"" is even a lot better . kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXfcd3ego99nabs The whole concert PURE is a joy for the ear. Lara is always been underrated in the US.

Everyone has very little they can add to explain how Lara’s voice makes them feel. You are not alone. You, sir, have a very soothing and engaging voice yourself and it’s such a pleasure to tune in to see you enjoy each Lara performance. She is like no other, really. Her talent is immense.

I have never seen a singer before whose breathing needs to be registered as a weapon. She conveys emotion without even trying, and of course having the Boston Pops and John Williams doing the backing track is not a bad thing either. Her Yentl medley is well worth hearing, as is Barbra's version of this, which I love...not as much as this version, but so it goes.

She's one of few who can do such classics justice. This is the theme from Barbra's 1976 "A Starr is Born". Music by Barbra, lyrics by Paul Williams. Won Oscars for both, making Barbra the first woman to win as composer for best song. The scene is here on YT should you care to check it out. This was a lovely cover.

So listen to other Lara's songs and her delivery in her native language (french, italian); I don't beleive she is under Barbra in that conveying (listen also Lara's Yentl)

Hate to say this but Sony Records and Celine Dion and her Management literally got her boycotted from being played in the USA around 1990 because Celine was so threatened by her talent, voice and popularity! It's not nice but that's what happened.

True storey, but it was in 1999-2000 when Sony Music signed her.
