The Queen of resonance, breath control, phrasing, the best composer and stories teller. ❤❤❤ That's why she's known as The Ring. Trained to be an Opera Singer for 10 years, but decided to compose and performe Pop songs. Fluently in 4 languages and has already sang in 12 languages perfectly. You should react to her singing Adagio 2 months ago with the Cellist Stjepan Hauser. She's currently 54 years, touring around the world and she has been also the vocal coach at The Voice France since 2005.

I could name a dozen more, especially songs in her native language. French is perhaps the most romantic language capable of inducing such tender sublime feelings next to Italian that I know of. Two of my favorites of Lara's is Adagio and a somewhat little known song from 'Le Secret' called 'I am A-WA', a song I wish Dimash would do a cover on.

I have always loved this song and it's message as interpreted by several artists (most notably Josh Groban and Harrison Craig), but I have never been touched and moved by this song the way I was watching this live performance from Lara. The recorded version of the song by Lara is great, but doesn't even compare to this live performance. Like you said Dereck, the body language, the phrasing, the orchestration, even the humming all give something special to the song that you just don't get from the recorded version. I was not able to fight back tears listening to this, especially after the musical break near the end; what Lara did with the song at that point was just magical. Obviously with any song, when the songwriter performs the song, there is a connection to the song that you will witness more than when another artists performs the song, but this performance takes that to another level. GREAT reaction, Dereck.

This was my favorite live concert of all time : “ Lara With Love” Immortal song’s from this concert. “ Adagio” “ you’re not from here” Caruso” ( a French song.. I forgot the name). She’s my favorite female pop / soul vocalist of all time. She can belt them with equal emotional story-telling power in 12 languages! Can Mariah? Did Whitney, can Celine, Streisand, Morissette... all world class female vocalists... nope. They are lucky if they can belt them in 3. There is a KZbin video titled “ Lara sings in 12 languages” React to that if you don’t believe me. And she writes and sings a lot of her own creations and other vocalist perform them , too like Dimash “ (Adagio” ) or Josh Groban “ (Broken Vow). I’ve been watching KZbin vocalists for 2 decades now so I will soon recommend other vocalists whom I discovered over the years that I suggest you react to. Loved your reaction and we can all relate to “ Broken Vow” I’m in tears almost every time I watch and listen. All love in isolation from Miami Beach, Al

Dereck, hi, I’m completely with you, on where the heck did she come from???? Why do we find out about her now?? This I’m writing in the year 2021!!!! Ms. Fabian has been around as long as Celine, Whitney!!!! C’mon!!!! Why was she hidden from us here in the USA???? All of Europe knows and are so very very fortunate to have had her, to see her many performances, and listening to her on the radio or the telly. How lucky they have been all these years. I found her through a fluke. I have been mesmerized since about three weeks ago, and have been listening constantly to her fabulous songs and concert videos. I can’t stop listening to her. You are right to say that she is a superb storyteller. She has made me cry often, or made me dance, and smile you name it. She is a all around talent. Her voice is tops, absolutely, I have favorites in female songstresses, but as of the day that I have listened and admired Ms. Fabian I have replaced my # 1 choice. 😊😆🥰. She is THE superior of them all. What a voice. Her musicians are outstanding as well. Whoever accompanies her are obviously in tandem with her, and obviously feel honored and excited to accommodate her. Thank you for your review, it’s nice to see a male be honest about feelings..😊

The same guy who wrote the music to this powerful song Broken Vow is the same guy that was Mariah Carey's piano player in the first six years of Mariah's career and he helped Mariah write songs like Vision Of Love, Hero, and When You Need A Friend. His name is Walter Afanasieff. Walter was dating Lara Fabian while he was in Mariah's band. One day he broke up with Lara. But... Walter had already written this music. So, Lara took his song and wrote the lyrics with his music. That's why these lyrics are so powerful because Lara singing on this video is confronting Walter through her own lyrics while at the same time using his composition instrumental music which eventually became Broken Vow. Most reactors to this song cry. Her truth is too strong to hold back emotions. She is like a wounded spirit left alone in the middle of the desert and from that agony she masterfully sings her pain with her controlled energy. This concert she performed that day which eventually aired on American PBS stations as well as in Canada is considered the best music performance by a female singer in the history of PBS tv stations in the USA. The Concert DVD is called From Lara With Love.

Excellent reactions to Fabian. She wrote both Adagio and Broken Vow. But she is absolutely famous for being in the zone and "becoming" the character of the story. NOW you must react to her Je Suis Malade. It's a cover she made her own. It was my first experience with her. Remains THE MOST STUNNING PERFORMANCE I have ever seen. She has such incredible control over her voice and craft: speaksingING, dash of growl, fry, belt: anything and everything she feels she needs to do in service of the story she can and does. I don't ever stan, but I became an instant superfan. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mofZnaCmpJqab80 (best subtitles, lyrics are pure poetry and important to understsnding the choices she makes throughout.) I only discovered her last year, and I mourn all the years I spent not experiencing her very special art. Love your authentic, heartfelt reactions. 👍

That concert was a pure gem. The orchestra and the musicians behind Lara were on par. Obviously there was some post production, but still. That’s prime Lara at her paramount. My favorite era of hers. Nowadays, her performances are less impressive on the interpretation side I would say. Still a great voice and technique, but less presence somehow (probably due to her past health issues and age). But mid-late 90s, early 2000s Lara was a stage and vocal beast!
