Hi Lara, I really hope you get all the procedures you need and I'm glad you have access to go privately on this. I had a lot of bloating and very heavy periods in my early 40s. I didn't get anything checked out at that stage but later found out I needed surgery for fibroids. After having those removed I've had no more problems. Sending hugs xx❤

I have adenomyosis and a history of cysts. I have been dealing with gynie issues since I was a teenager and I'm 43 now. It's so hard to get a diagnosis and I'm in pain many weeks a month with adenomyosis so I do feel for you. Don't be scared and keep advocating for yourself,as women we really have to fight to be taken seriously in this area.

I had adenomyosis and 12 years ago at 34 I had a total hysterectomy, yes I was plunged into early surgical menopause and it definitely triggered my autoimmune disease…BUT, I would still do it again. I couldn’t carry on living like that. Our hearts are all will you and hoping you get answers soon!!! ♥️ xxx

Hi there 😊 I feel for you on many levels...I have had the internal scan and it's simple and easy...I had ovarian cysts but they weren't big enough to do anything about. With the diet I hear you!! I have intolerance to onion garlic beans lentils and all "windy" veg!! I'm also gluten and lactose intolerant so even a g/f ready meal is still a no go for me 😢....ppl say there is always one ....but I dnt choose to be like this!! Currently Im struggling got poorly in March and have had every test and scan and camera but still no diagnosis 😢😫....between each procedure there is such a long wait with still no answers .....when I finally get diagnosised I can move on with my life and learn to live with it!! Hope you get on with your latest test and get the diagnosis you deserve ❤

My niece was just like you. After years of thinking it was a food intolerance, she saw a female doctor who felt her stomach and sent her for an ultrasound. She had a cyst the size of a melon inside her!! She had surgery to remove it and is now fine. Really hope you get it sorted soon. I really enjoy your videos especially the finance ones.

Endometriosis can only be diagnosed 100% from having a laparoscopy. I was diagnosed at 19 (very young) and at 32 had a full hysterectomy. However this was after so much treatment and surgery from cysts. For me the ovulation pain was worse than my period pain, but the bloating and blood loss each month was ridiculous. I wish you all the luck in finding out what’s causing your symptoms. Those who suffer or have suffered totally understand how you’re feeling 🥰

I feel for you, my stomach used to do that, I had adenmyosis. Just had a hysterectomy a week ago, glad to be free after many years of misery. Keep pushing for actual testing, use the complaints service for your hospital, mine was pals. It took many years to get an answer, but don't give up. Mri could see what you have as well.

This is my first time hearing about your health, but sorry to hear that you are going through all that. I have stomach issues and joint issues, but I just deal with it myself as I know it will never go away and there is not much doctors can do anyway. I used to work as in gynae when I was training to be a GP, and endometriosis is indeed difficult to diagnose and treat, especially in the NHS which is rubbish at this kind of thing. The NHS is good for cancer care and emergencies, but for everything else it's terrible. Private is much better for sure, if you can afford it.

Endometriosis cannot be ruled out unless you have a laparoscopy. How sad that you were told to rule out gynaecological issues without being given a laparoscopy. My daughter has suffered with severe pain, swelling like yours, extremely heavy periods and severe fatigue since she was 14. She had several internal camera investigations which showed PCOS, however none of the investigations showed endometriosis. She had a laparoscopy 6 weeks ago and it showed she has endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibrosis of the uterus. She is now 18 and was so relieved as she felt like she was going mad when for the past 4 years vaginal scans were showing up nothing. Endometriosis was never given to us as a possibility for her issues despite seeing several different doctors, we had to research it ourselves. Push for the laparoscopy as it’s the only way to rule out endometriosis. Good luck with your procedures, my daughter despite being very young didn’t find them painful at all.

So sorry to read this, if your daughter has heavy bleeding, ask for transanemic acid, it really cuts it down. I found that coils, pills etc did nothing or made the symptoms worse.

I’m 36 and my issues started in 2020, I had all the symptoms of an ill gallbladder but every scan showed my gallbladder was fine. I saw several private gastro consultants and it felt as though I was just being passed around for each one to say everything was fine. I started waking in the night a year ago whenever I need a wee with excruciating pain in my right ovary, saw a private gynaecologist and explained about my heavy and painful periods and what I call ‘shooty bum’. She said she would need to perform keyhole surgery to diagnose endo (I had an ultrasound and internal ultrasound under her care with nothing showing) but she was 95% sure I had endo. I had a mirena coil fitted (under general anaesthetic) and my periods are much more manageable and lighter now, still painful but nothing like they were. I still get pain in my ovary, up that side of my bowel and around my gallbladder but noticed that it’s usually when I’m on my period or ovulating or if I eat anything that angers my gallbladder (nuts, seeds, oily food). I explained all this to a GP recently and he said the breathlessness and gallbladder symptoms could well be endo tissue growing on my diaphragm and gallbladder, mimicking a poorly gallbladder. If it gets worse I’ll go back for the keyhole and a proper diagnosis. I hope this helps you figure out your issue, keeping fighting for yourself xx

It took me ten years to get a diagnosis for my endometriosis. It wasn’t until I had a lump in my groin and they did a biopsy and it contained endometrial tissue and received my diagnosis. Even with a diagnosis and 3 laparoscopic operations to burn away the tissue and various treatments the pain hasn’t gone away.. the treatment is very limited and ineffective in my experience. I was put on injections to put me into a menopause state but that was hell.. now I just put up with the pain as I can’t stand the treatments available when I haven’t found them to be affective. I pray you find a treatment that helps you honey.. have you looked into castor oil packs because they are brilliant and may help you too.

Good luck with the appointment. Been through all that without a single twinge! Only discovered when I had a hysterectomy for ovarian cyst and fibroids. The cyst turned out to be a chocolate cyst (endometriosis) and was all over my bowel and bladder and was lasered off. Surgeon said it was one of the worst cases he had seen and couldn't get over the fact I had never had a twinge! Lucky me, there were women on the ward in agony. I feel for you, so frustrating.

I used to get pains on alternative sides . Almost to the point of passing out . My stomach bloated like you . They talked about ibs . They eventually found a cyst that was borderline it was big enough it was pressing on my bladder which was the cause of repeated infections . The bladder then pushed on my bowl which caused bloating . I eventually had the cyst removed in my ovary when they found it was borderline they went back and took the other ovary ,the womb , the appendix and fat pad to make sure nothing could have a chance of being bad . I also eat a gluten free diet and I had skin tests for allergies where they found apples and pears weren’t my friends . Obs had to go onto hrt asap after operation but this just made my life so much better . I do sometimes have an odd breakthrough of swelling of the tummy but this is usually when an odd bit of wheat/ gluten gets through. I hope you get the help you need

That sounds very traumatic what you went through previously a few years ago with the diagnostics tests. I work in the NHS at a Central London Hospital and have always found we encourage our patients to be pro choice about things your body can't tolerate if its avoidable.. a colleague of mine had a similar gastro procedure and she insisted on GA as she knew she wouldn't be able to tolerate it, and likewise we had patients do the same. It sounds like you advocate for yourself really well but another consideration is to request referral from GP to a larger hospital that specialises in such health issues as they may have more funding and options available. Waiting lists will hopefully improve now Labour is in but it will obviously take longer than private healthcare. Good luck with the next step x

Thank you for speaking about this and including us in your journey. I have been thinking about you. I thought it had gotten better for some months. You spoke about your bloating going way down and showed your tummy looking flatter. What had "solved " it before or do you have any insight as to why it cleared but then came back?

You poor soul. As your bloating comes and goes it suggests it’s hormones and because they fluctuate it’s so difficult to diagnose. If it was something sinister the bloating would never ease up. I also suffered with bloating for years and never got a definitive diagnosis. I also have fibroids but they’re not the reason for bloating. Like everyone else on this feed my heart goes out to you x

It is completely normal to have anxiety about these completely unacceptable healthcare experiences. I work in this field and also lots of my training in the endoscopy lounge. Endoscopy's can be very unpleasant and that experience sounds horrific . I think it is tricky to have honest information about the procedure but your rights should always be respected. You should be able to say no at any point to any of these procedures. So sorry you weren't listened to. How unfair that you should have to be seeking psychological help for treatment that was delivered so unethically/unkindly.xx
