Great tutorial again, Lara. Love the fingerpicking. I use to play that song a lot, but mostly a strumming version. Except for two riffs. 1) at the end of a vocal section I pluck strings 2&3 like this: (x 3 4 x) (x 1 2 x) (x 0 0 x), and 2) a longer, similar riff on strings 1&2, but that requires a ukulele with more than 12 frets: (12 13 x x) (10 12 x x) (8 10 x x ) (7 8 x x) (5 7 x x) (3 5 x x) (2 3 x x) (3 1 x x) (3 0 0 0). The first one is simple to play as the fingers I and M are sliding down just 2 frets apart and then leave the fretboard for open strings. The second one is more difficult, but (in my opinion) absolute worth practicing. Maybe someone else likes that too?

Glad you enjoyed this Peter! It's fun to come up with different options. Thanks for sharing! 😊

Hi Lauren, I'm happy to hear that you like my teaching style, thanks! 😊 I don't play guitar so I'm not familiar with guitar teachers but I hope you find someone who fits your learning style. Thanks for the question!

I love your tutorials. Question for you about finger picking, are grown out nails necessary ? I have trouble getting such clear note attacks with my short cut finger nails when finger picking
@LaraMarkowitzMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, while it's not necessary, I think you'll get clearer notes if you grow your nails just a bit so you can pick the strings with your nails rather than your fingertips. Here's a short video that I did on this topic that you might find helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWeokpWko6ychrs I'm so glad you're enjoying the tutorials and thanks for the question! 😊

En qué afinación tienes tu ukulele?????????
@LaraMarkowitzMusic2 жыл бұрын
I'm using GCEA tuning with a low G. See 0:36 😊
@adamluo82092 жыл бұрын
why do you prefer a low G, how can I do that? is it just simply tune it to low G?
@LaraMarkowitzMusic2 жыл бұрын
I prefer low G tuning because the chords have more depth and the low G offers more options for melody notes when creating fingerstyle arrangements. You'll want to purchase a low G for the size of your uke. For example, here's the string set that I often use on my Kala tenor: amzn.to/2AHd6hQ
