Hello Lara I have admired your tutorials for a long time your teaching method is the best on KZbin in my opinion, so in a effort to make my Uke sound like yours I changed my Ukes strings i replaced the high G strings that i have used for years to low G just like yours, then I looked for your latest instruction video only to find that that you are now teaching three string uke using only C E A, is this pattern going to continue Lara will it be a two string tutorial next time. Stay safe.
@LaraMarkowitzMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hi Patrick, I'm so glad you're enjoying my lessons, thank you! Interesting timing for this video right after you changed your low G. My lessons will generally use all 4 strings. Occasionally I like to create original melodies using only 2 or 3 strings to make them more accessible to my viewers. For this song, the pattern on strings 1-3 seemed to be the best fit. More tutorials using low G are on the way 😊

What strumming pattern would you recommend as an alternative? Island or some other?

Great question! I find the island strum is a bit too much for this song. I would do a D - D U pattern with downstrums on beats one and two, and an upstrum on the "and" after beat two.

Great !question : is it ok to useaclassical guitar D string as a low G on a Ukulele without affecting the instrument? Tks
@LaraMarkowitzMusic Жыл бұрын
Hi Gaetan, I’ve never tried this myself, however, I’ve heard about people successfully using classical D guitar strings for the low G on ukulele. Make sure it’s a nylon string (not steel), and that the guage of the string is correct for your ukulele. If you don’t already have the D string, then I would recommend going with a low G ukulele string.
@johngouker3887Ай бұрын
Could you play it on a low G & high G so we can hear the difference ? On all 4 strings ?
