Lard is a great old-fashioned ingredient for making soap. This recipe has a bit of a modern take on lard soap by adding coconut oil and castor oil for extra bubbles. This recipe makes a nice hard bar of long-lasting natural soap!

I prefer, forcing all of my soap to go through gel phase because it lasts twice as long when I’m using the bars, and I simply like the feel of it better.

You are a very good teacher. I am interested in making some homemade cold process soap for the first time in over 10 years. So I’ve been watching a lot of KZbin videos to help me get ready again. You really have made some ideas much more clear to me. Thank you!

Making this today! Also, when you put how much oil can you specify it’s WEIGHT Ounces and not fluid ounces? I had to watch your video and then you mentioned a scale. Thanks!!

I used this one amzn.to/3tVwdjC I have since read that maybe it's best to buy castor oil in glass jars, so this might be a better choice: amzn.to/3u4kGPa

@@SoNewOrleans1 NORMALLY…….. most soap makers DO provide both “american” measurements as well as metric!! However, its really easy to convert weights & measures using google. That being said.. for janettefares, or others who don’t use “american” measurements, If you enter these measurements into SOAP CALC …. you can then choose to have them converted into metric. SOAP CALC is an absolutely accurate soap recipe calculator.
