@zonester_exe91426 жыл бұрын
My first ball python then a beardie and a boa then I will move on to a blue tongue after that an ackie monitor then a red foot tortoise a lepoard gecko after that a tegu then a Burmese Python after that a corn snake then a Mexican black king snake or I'll change my mind for some other list
@tonymontanak48665 жыл бұрын
Tegues need a minimum of a 8 foot by 4 foot by 4 foot cage as a sub adult,adult so unless you have a whole extra room in your house I would reconsider I have one and just be carful cuz they can be fiesty (there no berdie lol)they can also easily rip off your finger, especially if they death roll,more like a alligator than a lizard lol great. Lizzards tho ;)

I'm looking to get a tegu but I am only 13. I had a bearded dragon and King snake but have always looked at this for the future. I want to know what the minimum cage size is as the biggest I can get is 6-7 ft X 2ft X 2ft is this going to big enough? Also are they hard to keep and are they expensive as I won't be the one buying food my parents will. Thanks
@heydiahrea8 жыл бұрын
i feel like you could pull off a 7 foot cage but 8 feet is prime and 2 feet is kind of narrow bigger is better with big lizards
@Christopherjamesmurphy218 жыл бұрын
from the reserch ive done. 8x3x3 is the smallest you would want to go for a cage. and they are pretty expensive to feed, the need alot of insects and fruit and veggies at first. then when a bit older they need lots of chicken, rats, chicks, and again fruits and veggies through out the weeks.
@heydiahrea8 жыл бұрын
+deathwolf743 I feel like argentines average around 4 feet, 5 feet is a pretty large individual but I guess you do have to plan just in case it does get that large.
@ethanhughes756 жыл бұрын
Start a baby off in a 20 gallon long tank. That will give you time to build it’s permanent cage. 8x4x3 is the minimum for an adult. Bigger is better tho

Think a vegan tegu could thrive?
@tommyma098 жыл бұрын
+deathwolf743 yea yea. I was just messing around. But I might get a tegu in the future, and I will feed it animals even though I am a vegan. I will just get the meat from small farms that treat the animal "ethically" in a way even though there isn't such thing as ethical meat. I wouldn't do that since there's not much research on them on plant based diets like there are with dogs. So I'm going on the safe road :)
@tommyma098 жыл бұрын
+deathwolf743 and even if the tegu was vegan, it wouldn't only eat fruits. It would probably be similar to a vegan dog diet except more protein concentration along with some mysterious minerals.
@tommyma098 жыл бұрын
+deathwolf743 yea, definetly. I would never feed a live animal anyways. Just not able to watch it, and it could die much faster in other ways. And also, thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.
