we get those boards on some of our old commercial gas water heaters and the wire colours are the USA type , completly diffrent from our Live(Brown) Neutral (Blue) Earth (yellow/green)

I diagnosed a modine heater with a similar ignition controller. I found that the way it was designed had the plastic housing directly on top of a board trace, which over time rubbed the metal away, causing a break specifically in the spark portion of the board. I've been meaning to fix it with a jumper wire and testing it, but I never got around to it yet. I replaced that one from another heater that had a bad heat exchanger.

Keep up the great content! I have a chimney that needs remortarted and new flashing all around it before running a liner up the masonry chimney cause there never was one. Is it worth going to all of this or would it be alot easier to just put in a power vent. There's a basement window close to the boiler...
