Large Macrame Wall Hanging | DIY Macrame Wall Hanging Tutorial - Part 1

Hi everyone,
For this large macrame wall hanging, I have done the tutorial as Part 1 and Part 2.
This video is part 1 and can be easily created if you follow the step by step process which is shown and described in the tutorial. Please don't forget to turn on Closed Caption (cc) for subtitles.
You can also customise this pattern in various ways by adding more layers, increasing or decreasing the length of cords for bigger or smaller size, using different coloured cords, add longer fringes, change the shape of fringe etc.

Macrame Wall Hanging size: 68cm x 60cm
Materials used:
- 4mm|Single Twist Cotton Cord, Colour : Green Tea
- 4mm|Single Twist Cotton Cord, Colour : Rust
- Wooden Branch: 68cm long
- Scissor
- Measuring Tape
Total Cords Used in Part 1 & Part 2:
~ Colour (Green Tea): 102.6m or 112.20yd
- 1 Cord: 200cm
- 20 Cords: 130cm each
- 2 Cords: 140cm each
- 4 Cords: 400cm each
- 12 Cords: 345cm each
- 36 Cords: 40cm each
~ Colour (Rust): 52.8m or 57.74yd
- 1 Cord: 200cm
- 30 Cords: 100cm each
- 2 Cords: 140cm each
- 4 Cords: 450cm each
*Note: I would suggest not to cut all the cords at once. May cut the cords as you go along with the tutorial

I would like to use 5mm cord and not sure how much extra to add too the lengths of cord. For example , 130cm in 4 mm how much extra if using 5mm cord? Would it be half that amount again? 💕

Like everyone else, 140 cm was not what was needed for the 3rd row. I used 400 cm for all 6 cords and it worked just fine.

And for row 4 I used 6 cords that were 500 cm.

From what I see, not only the cord sizes are missing, but the second part is missing as well. Why make a video of such a beautiful piece with out clear instructions?

Hi Sweta, the measurements may not be correct. But you can always add extra cords to begin with and adjust as you go. Please don't cut all the cords at once, it will help you save and estimate the cord lengths when you are in next step. Hope this helps x
