I hope this gives people more appreciation for the amount of time and work that goes into hand crafting leather goods. A lot of people don't have any idea.

This will be really helpful to beginners to see the full process for edge treatments etc. when I started the patterns make it easier but all the extra stuff to get a polished result took a little more research and practice. Looking forward to seeing part 2

love this video, helps show its not a fast process. also loving how nearly all your videos shows something different, a new tool or different technique, i like the iron on bonding sheet, seems to be a lot better and less messy than the glue method. cant wait to get this pattern and annoy the neighbours with the hundreds of hand hammered hole punched holes.

Heat set adhesives work better if you place the iron down and hold pressure and then pick up and move a few inches over and press again. Rubbing back and forth doesn’t give the best adhesion. A heat press would be even better.

Tony is this large travel bag around the same size as the original large weekender bag? And what is the material use cut @ 3:03 and ironed on, and where can I get it from?

HI Tony - what type of canvas are you using for your lining? Been trying to master that lately and think I might be using something too heavy. Also, any other lining insight would be very welcome. Keen to take my projects to the next level. Is there a leather that works well?

@@DieselpunkRoi guess they mean the adhesive you used to stick the canvas to the glue. I also had the same question - I tried several options that were available in my area, but ultimately the canvas got unstuck when I turned the bag from the inside out. Perhaps, you have any suggestions which product to use. Also, I had an issue with the canvas itself. After it is cut, the edge becomes ragged and threads come out. I really struggled with it and had to use a separate edge tape to cover the rough edge. Could you please share any info how to avoid that or maybe you have any other options for lining? You have very neat edges and I have no idea how to do it myself. Btw out of all the patterns I bought from you this was by far the hardest (it took me well over 80 hours with glueing several times and applying tape to the edges) but the most satisfying (apart from almost-round bag, perhaps, but that was my first project, so the most exciting one 😅)
