The solution is more prosperity for everyone so that Peruvian fishers are no longer poor. Virtue signaling faux compassion for the poor does nothing to actually help the poor.

@@DemPilafiando you have any idea how insulting you're being? As an actual poor person we don't all have a victimhood mentality and you certainly don't know that these people do. Justifications like this are what make rich people think that they have money because they deserve it based on who they are as a person, and if that's true then it follows all poor people are undeserving. It's the exact kind of rhetoric the wealthy, big biz, and the GOP as justification to convince their followers that people born into poverty deserve to be poor because they're less intelligent and morally inferior, which of course isn't true. One of those Peruvian kids could change the world if given the opportunity but we'll never know.

Given that waves like these are normally associated with Plate Tectonics, it is odd that there are no reported earthquakes in the area or offshore.

Were they aware of the tsunami or not? Instead of heading to higher ground, they risked staying along the coastline or attempting to rescue their boats. It’s 2024, not 2004, when the dangers of tsunamis were less widely understood.

@miljeuta2 күн бұрын
@@kennethloki7011it is already confirmed it was the underwater landslide generated tsunamy. This was filmed where the wave height was small. Close to the landslide tsunami reached 6 m high. Damage was made over 200 miles of coastline. Damage and wave height reduced further from the slide on both sides. There were 4 waves, 2nd being the tallest. Unmistakeable tsunami patern.
